Traxxas Rustler XL-5 gearing....?
Looking for some help..
I'm about to install this motor on my Rustler XL-5: http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXJAJ5&P=7
I don't know much about how to gear it. I have a 15t pinion gear, don't know how many tooth(teeth..?) there is on my spur gear.
What would you gentlemen recomend?
I'm looking for speed of course, some tourqe, but without overgearing it.
So, witch pinion and spur gear should i buy?

First off, great choice in motor!
Now for the gearing, try a 15-tooth 48-pitched pinion with the stock 86-tooth spur. That would be a great starting point!

On a XL-5 you should have a 86t spur, just keep the stock spur. And the spur should say the tooth count on it. The 15t pinion is perfect for a 17 turn motor, as long as it is 48 pitch.
