Default Intellipeak Charger

I have:[link]http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/WTI0001P?&I=LXUF43[/link]

I charged my stock 1100mah AE mini pack for my RC18, and it charged in like 5mins!?!?!? I had the amps set at 3, as it is NiMh, does this sound right? I charged a normal 6 cell NiCd 1500mah Shark pack, and it also seemed to charge really quick. It took longer than the mini pack, but it was "peaked" in under 15mins. The only note in the instructions I could find related to this was:

Note: Do Not Discharge Battery Cells smaller than Sub-C Size
("Sub-C" is one size smaller than a "C" size).

I really dont want to ruin my packs so any help is great!

Even though your charge rate is a bit fast (should be 1 amp) the pulse charger is notorious for stopping long before the battery is full.

Perhaps the packs were already half full?

No the packs were both low. I had just used them and as soon as I notice a large power decrease I stop. I waited for them to be completly cool, and then charged them.

Is the Intellipeak a "bad" charger? I thought it was half way decent for the price...

The intellipeaks are ok, the digital and deluxe is the best one of the series, and the pulse is the worst for stopping too early. They are rather limited in design. I sure like the digital one though as it can do 6.5 amps with no sweat. It's just getting old.

I got one of the chargers when I 1st got my pede, Im not happy really at all. It false peaks all the time and some times charged my batteries so much that they melted the shrink wrap... I still use it to discharge, I now have a MRC 959 that works better, but still I wouldn't recomend that one either...
