Default Titan 12t in an e-maxx

I have a couple of titan 12t 550 motors not being used and i was thinking of puting them in my e-maxx.Has anyone done this with any succsess,in other words not just a test run but regular use.
I have changed most of my parts to aluminum and i want the truck to move as good as it looks.I would like to use brushed but i was thinking of useing the vxl but it only handels 10 cells and i don't know if 10 cells will run as long as the stock motors with 12 cells. So what would be a good motor (s) in the e-maxx that is aluminum, brushed and opinions on the vxl.

They will work ok if wired in series, and be about the same speed/runtime as stock Titans. If the voltage is increased much over 10 volts they won't hold up.

Use small pinions on those 12t Titan motors, 32-pitch 12-16t. Try a single 8-cell pack.

Also, look into Johnson 600 or Kershaw 700 drill motors. A dual motor S600 setup seems to work well too. Look those S600s up on towerhobbies.

So one 8 cell running two titan12t on the e-maxx is enough?I was thinking that only 8 cells and two titan 12t wouldn't be enough voltage to move it.I don't think i understand how much power is needed for the e-maxx cause it is a bit more heavy than stock.

Dual S600s on 14 volts... there. Nice and cheap too.

Thanks for the help guy's.I'll just keep the titan 23t 's in there for now.So if i run brushless then is when i can use one motor right?I see slo-v is running a feigao 7xl,how did you choose that motor? What kv rating should i be looking around. Is there certain kv ratings for certain applications?

I run a single Fiegao 7XL, correct. It is 2380 kv, handles ~95 amps, with a Mamba Max ESC, geared 20/64. I run it on 3s lipo but the Motor can handle a 14-18 volt setup. You want a motor that is around 2000-2700, able to handle about 65-100 amps depending on their kv (the higher kv need more amps to generate torque).

Most people use the 8XL ~2084 kv, on 14 volts.

The vxl is a 3500 and the esc continous curent is 65 A and peak is 100 A that seems to fall a bit above(the motor)(below on the esc.) what you recomend and it can't handle any more than ten cells so i don't think it would work.Mabey it would over heat i don't know i was hoping to use the vxl because the lhs has them and i don't buy anything from the internet anymore.

The VXL can work, just gear it really low like 12-14t pinion, and stock spur, on 10 cells or whatever you want to run. Just be sure to check the temps because if it heats up, reduce the pinion. I think Takedown used the VXL in his Emaxx ans said it flips over form a stand still! I think it might go about stock speeds, since the motor doesn't have enough torque to be geared too high.

And I believe the VXL ESC is rated for 200 amps, while the motor itself is rated for 65 amps continuous and maybe 100 amps burst. You should be ok, just remember to check heat.
