which car should I get?
These are the cars I'm interested in because of their durability, and their cheap prices. Speed is really good as well. I'm leaning towards the XL-5 rustler, because it's really cheap, and is fast. Please don't bias your answer just because you have one of them. BE HONEST!I actually want to know which I will have the most fun with a 7 cell battery without spending too much on other things. VXL is my last resort. I dont really want one, but if you really think that it's good and worth it for an average joe like myself, then by all means recommend it in the poll. hmmmm...I'm not sure if it will be worth a VXL if I'm not going lipo or spending a fortune (that I don't have). Just vote, and DON'T BIAS IT!

The VXL will be a lot of fun. If your getting the VXL I'd say get the Rustler. It'll handle a lot better and here's a picture of the Rustler with larger tires if you don't think it'll have enough clearance http://monster.traxxas.com/showpost....79&postcount=1 and do you know what car he has?

I'm going to vote XL5 because you said you can barley pay for the Rusty XL5 and a VXL would be way too much. I say Stampede or Rustler XL5. Or if you could get a chassis for one of them and get your own motor/esc/servos.

RE: which car should I get?
o.k. but will there be a noticeable speed difference between xl-5 with 3600 mah 7 cell and vxl? I was looking at the chart on traxxas, and it doesn't seem like that.

Runtime on the VXL will be better, yes. If you can wait for christmas or something or pull through, get the VXL, if not, the XL5.
Where are you planning on driving it. I built a track which I drive my pede on and 25 is more then enough. Make sure to make sure the motor doesn't get too hot with 7 cells. I found a video on youtube to give you an idea of the speed http://youtube.com/watch?v=NR87_CKYvnA Rustler XL5 7 Cells
http://youtube.com/watch?v=w_SoUIUuMCk That has a 28t pinion and a 6 cell.

RE: which car should I get?
ya... i just calculated how much it would be for VXL rustler with 2 3600 mAh 7 cell batts, 2 female trx connectors, charger, tamiya to trx male connector for charger so no soldering, and some other things plus shipping and taxes is going to be way over 500 bucks. something like 520 or so. WAY more than I can afford, so VXL is definately off my list. My budget is at most 350 which is everything i need for xl-5 plus everything i listed for the vxl. I think I'm going to stay with an XL-5
DON'T BOTHER VOTING FOR VXL BECAUSE I CANT AFFORD IT IN A MILLION YEARS[]

Here's another choice.......... http://www.hpiracing.com/products/en/10550.html
You can get it here http://www.hpiracing.com/products/en/10550.html I'm thinking of getting one even though I'm a speed freak.

RE: which car should I get?
actually. nvm about the HPI car. they don't have it on Greathobbies.com, which is the only cheap canadian well known site around. I'd only be buying it from there, and since they don't have it, I'll wait till at least 10 people vote then go from there.
BRUSHLESS BOY: do you know if these batts are any good?

RE: which car should I get?
I have a Stampede and it's great. At first it'll flip a little easy but you'll learn to drive it. My stampede came with older style tires which make the car a lot easier to flip. I put on some Talons (tires that come with XL5/VXL Stampede) and I haven't flipped it since. The flipping doesn't count 40MPH speed runs.

For that price you might as well get an EP4600 http://dynamiterc.com/Products/Defau...rodID=DYN1862T
