Oh, before I forget this is the FIRST and only trophy I have. Got lucky to get one.
Raced my Traxxas Rustler in 2003 and got 2nd place.
The bottom part is engraved with 2003 Speedway RC Club.
Next year they better start giving out trophies again, because a 7.00 gift card for 1st place and 5.00 for 2nd just isnt worth it.[:@]
I rather have a trophy to keep track on how good I'm doing.

I'm slowly starting to reconsider..... I was thinking about a b4 but I might go for the b44. Let me know if you like it and if the building process is hard.

Notes about the gearing. The Brushless system I chose says 1 tooth lower than a 12-13T Modified.
If I use a 15T MOD in my B4 not B44 its an 18 Tooth Pinion. So I think a 16 Tooth or 15 Tooth will be fine with the B44 gearing.
Here's a pic of the brushless system opened.

No, ignore this. a 19 tooth would be the best choice according to the included 84 tooth spur gear.

I dont think it will be hard, about as hard as building a regular B4. Not too shabby.

Agreed, I got mine at 4:00PM yesterday. I went to bed at 11:00PM. The car was built except for the install of electronics & tires still need to be glued

Oh MAN! I had mine ordered! had to cancel it, needed the money for something else. I still have the other items needed, Brushless system, servo, reciever to match my Nomadio React, etc... I am looking forward to getting it even more now! Show some picks of the build. I have some ideas on moding the shock towers for pure estetics, I have acess to a place that has laser cuter, they can do some nice stuff with drawings I give them. Also, can you give me some dimensions for the battery areas, MaxAmps makes a Lipo saddle pack, that I would like to know if it would fit. Also, how does the wheels lock into the axles (hexes or pin & what sizes are they)? I can't wait to get to build my own! Pull those parts out of the bag! You're killing us!

If you know hunter tell him he can post his build right on this thread, unless he just wants to make a new one.
It's alright with me, I can change the title to bmaglinger&Hunter306 Associated B44 build thread.
It will be almost 2 months before I can build it.[:@]
There we go I changed it, I put Hunter's name 1st since he's building it, before I am...

It's his Christmas Gift... Pretty sweet gift in my opinion!

I'll start building mine this evening, so you won't have to wait long.

Well, Hunter what you gonna be running in yours. Hopefully brushless like me.
The magazine ad had a 4.5 Brushless, I'll be using a 7.5 cause the track is small, but not real small u know.
Man, I wish you guys could come down to my town next year and race at my LHS's track.
I might be using the tires or rims of a Losi XXX4, but that is it. Yeah, I'm talkin' bout the switches.......but bowties will probably be the best for the very loose dirt I race on. It's dusty...so dusty if you smack the dirt with your hand the dirt gets everywhere....[:'(]

Default RE: bmaglinger's Associated B44 Build Thread

I spent a good-bit of time yesterday evening working on the B44. I made it through quite a few steps, and will have pictures later on this evening...

Some Observations so Far:

1) Ball Diffs use pretty standard AE Parts, look like delrin/composite gears. Interestingly, the manual does NOT have you putting grease between the ring/pinion gears.

2) The Center Slipper Clutch assembly is BEEFY, but the drive pin (that keeps the front drive cup attached) is only held in by a rubber grommet (pictures this evening) -- I suppose this makes it easy to do quick changes

3) The Plastic Shock Caps are poor quality. Right out of the package, the molding process makes them difficult to thread onto the Hard-Anno'd shock bodies. I can already see ALOT of people stripping these plastic shock caps -- Just during assembly

4) Stock Setup makes the shocks feel 'under-dampened' -- I think they could both use slightly heavier oil.

This is the Factory Team version. I'd imagine you could find some aluminum after market caps, if you did some looking.
