Yes.

2wd is under rated... Meaning you will have lots of fun even though it is not 4wd. I have both types of vehicles (Rusty, E-maxx etc), and trust me the only time you will want 4wd is if you're driving on real rough slippery stuff or want good turning radius (which many bashers or non-racers don't care about too much).

2wd is fine. actually it is more demanding for your driving skills as it is clearly more difficult to control a 2wd vehical sliding than a 4wd vehical drifting.

bye

Just get it, you won't regret it. Might want to factor in some 7 or 8-cell NiMh packs with the purchase to make it really fly. There's a few upgrades that can be done to it to make it pretty much the ultimate backyard basher ST, but stock, it's pretty solid.

well, i had to do some finding to get to my stampede. first i had the e-maxx. then i thought it was too much work and not very fast so i got my t4. a stadium truck. they i found out i didn't like the low ground clearence. so then, i found the stampede. easy to use, fun, reliable and easy to upgrade. i have stuck with it ever since

i have many reasons why i love my pede for what i do. but it's all in where you drive. they both have there ups and downs, but so do all other cars out there

you'd better REALLY want it, or you probably won't have that much fun with it.

if he is used to the 4wd on big obsticles he may be dissappointed. if he is looking to scale down.. these would be perfect.

2wd- more efficient and more fun/challenging to drive IMO.

I picked up a Rustler VXL a couple of months back and just recently purchased a Max Amps 5000 mAh 3 cell Lipo; this thing is crazy fast !!! I strapped my Garmin eTrex vista to the truck and with stock gearing and this Lipo battery, the VXL hit 60 mph and I think it had more, but I didn't have the room to get it to full speed. It's been real sturdy for me, but I've been buying RPM replacement parts to make it bullet proof. I need to put as much aluminum in the front end as possible to add weight. With that Lipo battery, I can't keep the front end down. Most hobby shops stock a ton of parts for the Traxxas line-up, and there is a lot of aftermarket parts available as well.
