Default help me with my list

ok so my dad finally popped the big question.( no not that lol) he asked me what i want for x-mas. well i have a truck lined up im going with a traxxas rustler xl-5 rtr in blue.im mainly getting rc stuff. i need at least 2 good batteries. i was thinking a 2400 nicad and im not sure about how many cells. i need something that will last long. i will lost likely need anew charger because i doubt a mega 2 quick charger can charge anything above 1900 mah.i will be definitely be getting upgrades.oh my dad said i can only order form tower hobbies. can some one steer me into the right direction?

I would ask for a minimum of 3000 generics for batteries (tenergy or batteryspace, ect.) you can get some great deals on pairs of them while perhaps spending less than the 2400 nicads. THE CHARGER WILL GET YOU GOING OK until you get a peak charger. It is just a matter of re-setting the timer for an addtional xx minutes.

u should at least buy a charger like this
it may cost more butin the long run it will be better
because when i bought my first electric i tried to get the cheapest stuff and i got a $50 charger and then in like a month i decided it took too long to charge so i eventually bought a $150 one

the charger that u put in your last post charges nimh batteries at 3.0 amps and it will take a while to charge your batteries
the one i posted right here charges nimh batteries at 6.5 amps so it will charges your batteries more than twice as fast

beg, beg, and beg some more for the rustler vxl.

WHY? B/C with 7-cell batteries the stock titan motor won't last long in your xl-5 rustler, the vxl already comes with ball bearings, and my xl-5 esc died with under a year of hardly of any abusive driving

Actually, i just got some last week, and they are real GP cells. You have to get the ones that have clear shrink wrap, not the ones covered in paper. You will easily be able to deal with the slight speed loss of a 6 cell compared to a 7, when you can get two GP's for the price of one DTX. By the way, a couple of years ago the GP3300's were the absolute best cells you could buy, And they still far surpass the discharge rate of the dtx cells.

your radioshack may have had some from a while ago. my lhs had two when i went in there and i bought both. i came back and they started selling the packs without clear shrink wrap.

that pack is not really made for mph. more of runtime. it's just a 6c like other packs. if your looking for more speed you have to up the voltage of the pack. the mah just gives you runtime. that, and it's a more expensive pack then most on towerhobbies.
