RE: Old school Tamiya's
Oh man, I can't believe I sat through all 4 videos....[X(] I almost didn't know if I should feel embarrassed for them or to actually laugh out loud at the "features" that people paid an arm and leg for back when 20 years ago.... But you gotta hand it to Tamiya for doing what no other company back then wanted to.. catering to the non-racer r/c (as expensive as their models were non-the-less) even though they slipped in catch phrases like "racer" in some of their not-so-race worthy models....
I love the camera work on those videos.. they slowed down most of the action so it looked more "realistic" especially the Black Foot footage. It made the truck seem larger and heavier and real, even though it probably drove like a common Nikko r/c "off-road" truck with boing-boing springs does nowadays.
Thanks for posting those. I remember watching the old Hilux videos, those were awesome too. The Hilux is probably one of my favorite trucks on my vintage r/c wishlist... can't beat an all-metal 3-speed transmission.. even if the truck's front track was narrower than the rear it would seem (which I do not like).

"paint it fancy or paint it plain, the pattern is up to you!"
LOL, I love old tamiya ads, they make the vehicle look so real by slowing the film down

Thanks guys. I would love to get my hands on a Blackfoot so bad. I knew some people would like these since most of us older guys in here played with these.
