Default If my vxl system died..

just wondering here, nothing accually happened. if my whole vxl system died, i know i could replace the esc with the traxxas lifetime electronics warrenty. but is that warrenty also for the motor? if not, and i don't think it is, what motor would work well with the vxl speed controller? i have heard novak, how about lehner? another question. if i got a novak sensorless motor would that cogg even though the motor is sensorless? i don't even know if i spelt lehner right, but i've seen some cheap -$50 motors from them. what would be most comparable to my current motor? thanks.

I did not even know you can get Novak Sensor less motors?

Why not look at one of the Feigao motors? They come in a really huge range. I have seen anything from 5T to 25T, and in S, L and XL sizes. If you cannot find a motor there that does not do the job then I have no idea where you will.

Best is.... they start at $39. So even if they are not the best quality, you can still buy 2 of them for the price the other mainstream motors go for.

Novak motors are sensored. Call traxxas and ask them if the motor is also covered by the warrenty.

Go with Novak and use it in sensored mode for superior (no-cogg) affect.

Novak motors run better than the blue motor it comes with. I have run a novak 13.5 on the VXL and it was no cogging and a 'softer' feel, very controllable compared to the blue motor. Plus you can run 3-cell LiPo with a Novak motor, which you can't even do using a Novak ESC.

380c's will run very hot in the pede/rusty/bandit. Try to stay away from Feigao motors if at all possible unless your looking at an L/XL which isnt the case... There are so much better motor's out there.

i was just checking to make sure that the esc and motor didn't have to both be sensorless. so it's just the motor that's sensorless.. so all i will have to do is get a novak 13.5 motor and it will run just like any novak out there?

The V-3500 is sensorless and the VXL-3s ESC is both sensor and sensorless based which means it can run both. Yes pretty much any sensored/sensorless motor you hook up to it will work.

The Novak 13.5 is stock brushless, it's meant for stock class racing. If you want real RPM/speed go with something with fewer turns, ie. 8.5 or 7.5.
Put the sensor wires from the motor into the 'aux port' on the side of the VXL. You don't have to do this, but if you don't, you'll get the usual cogging of the VXL.

Any more info on this? Somewhere I can go read up on?

I have an EX 8.5 that I would love to see on 3S LiPo.
