emaxx batteries
Hi there everyone, I just traded my t-maxx off for an e-maxx! It should be here soon, hopefully, and I was wondering what is the most mah I should run on a stock setup? I found a deal on nimh 4500's, would they be ok? I have been told not to run to much battery before but I am not sure what the limits are. I don't want to ruin the speed controller or anything! please help and thanks. Also, I am not to sure what voltages I can run. Thanks again!

RE: emaxx batteries
If you do go for the tenergy 4500s try to get the propel cells. The normal 4500s arent bad but the propels are just supposed to be much better.

[link=http://www.all-battery.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=1732]look at these[/link]
they are at a good price and are not bad especially for a stock setup. You cannot run 8 cells on the stock motors(esc can handle it though)
[link=http://www.all-battery.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=1830]these are the propels, and they are yellow not red. The normal 4500s are red.[/link]

RE: emaxx batteries
The hump pack may not fit because of the battery hold-down piece getting in the way. You want the special E-Maxx friendly 7-cell pack that has the 7th cell off to one side on the top.
Anyway, the 3s 11.1v Lipo will NOT fry anything in your Emaxx. I mean it is ONLY 11 volts. Your dual 6-cell Nimh battery will put out over 14 volts... do that math.
And the mah rating is just the capacity, and does not tell you how much power the battery has (not necessarily).
As mentioned above, your E-Maxx can handle 12-14 cells total, which is 14.4 - 16.8 volts, same as dual 6-cell 7.2v packs or dual 7-cell 8.4v packs. The equivalent of a lipo battery would be 4s 14.8 volts, preferably 4000+ mah capacity, so again, the 3s 8000 would not hurt anything, just that it would not be terribly fast, but you could drive it twice as long.
And by the way, regardless of the "suggested charge rate" at 6 amps listed on that website, I would not charge your batteries over 3-4 amps if you want them to last in the long run. In fact charging them at slower speeds puts a more balanced and full charge in the individual cells. 4-6 amps is fine if you're gonna race and need the extra little boost in speed for the first minute or two but it is not worth it for most of us who just want to save money and drive the r/c around rather than throwing away money on batteries every few months.

[link]http://www.all-battery.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=1732[/link] So this would probably be the best way to go as far as style?
