motors
Which one of these would be better for my rustler?

I already have both as well as a trinity 19t nervous breakdown, And since I had all of them I thought I'd see what you guys thought would be better, I am running a hitec hfx-r esc and 4500mah nimhs, Thanks!

i had no luck with the titan. now i have a 15t team orion, and a 15t speed gems trinty. they are both faster than the titan, have laster twice as long already, and are rebuildable.
i dont know much about the 15t you posted, but i would bet on that motor over a titan.
if you use the titan, dont use traxxas"high speed" 23 tooth pinion. thats what killed my titan.

RE: motors
what makes it better than a $40 ball bearing motor? the peak vs titan was my main question I guess. would the lack of friction by having bearings make up for the difference in turns in a matter of rpm and power?[sm=50_50.gif]

RE: motors
the raven has a V2 endbell, which is one of the best performing motors ever.

The Raven will have a good bit more power than the Titan.
Those of you that think the Titan is the best, need to learn your facts. I understand that you are new to the hobby, and i was once like you thinking that the Rustler .15 was the fastest out there.

RE: motors
I wouldnt risk it geting the titan. Some of them last awhile while on the other hand some take a dump within a few runs. I say get a checkpoint money 19t or a Element 19t.

If you are not new like you claim, you would know the Titan is the worse choice of the two. Titans are hit or miss some last many runs but some last 3 runs. Everyone knows this there isn't much you can do you have just been getting lucky, you do not know how to make them last. A good 15 turn will outperform the Titan any day.

RE: motors
Thanks guys, I am not sure who caught this but I have both motors already, so does that mean I should use my peak? Or should I buy a good 13t peak?

RE: motors
The 12 turn Titan will last a long time if used conservatively.
The 15 turn motor doing the same job will not last as long as a 12 turn Titan.
That's why I made a distinction between 6 or 8 cells. (Putting out the same power) the Titan will run cooler and last longer. If limited to 6 cells or 2S lipo then the 15 turn motor is choice because it will hold up ok and is lighter. Most of the speed freaks who used 8 cells and high gears found out quickly that the Titan won't hold up producing that kind of power.

If the choice is between the Titan and the peak then allow th voltage to determine which one. 5-7 cells use peak 15 turn and 7-9 cells use the titan.

RE: motors
I have the Peak Raven S 19t (rebuildable) and for the $20 street price it's been the best bang for the buck. Angled brushes for long life and reduced brush bounce. Had to modify the plastic key (shaved it off) which prevents the motor from being adjusted into the positive timing (which is the most bizzare thing, negative timing only ?!?).
The double method R is the same motor too as with all peak/orion products.
The v2 endbell is just a sugar coat. I wouldn't go fo rit. It shouldn't go significantly any faster from what I've read. The watt output spec is the same. Same magenets and winding as the budget motors that are double method R / Raven S. Instead for that same ~$40 I'd rather get the better grade Formula ball bearing motors.
