Well, it appears this Friday(2 days from now) is when I'm getting the car. I'll probably start building the day I get it.[8D]

They'll have to get over it, because brushless rules, because my B44 has the Novak sensored, and the 501x will be Tekin sensorless.

I beileve I will run brushed first.
I have a brand new 15T fireball motor 15.99 motor(never even broke it in), Team Orion Rush 15T Modified, and then the money motor.
The money will walk the floor with those 2 motors trust me even though it's only 19 turn.
Then later next year I'll pop in the brushless tekin redline 362 motor.

People have also been telling me to run Lipo. With a car with ceramic bearings in it, running Lipo wont do much on a smaller track.
These I have saved for the 501x the brand new ones on top. I bought all www.cheapbatterypacks.com had.
They have to get more of these in before they sell out again.
But they were a steal at 32 dollars per pack.
The bottom 2 have about 10-15 charges on them due to racing my B44 at Albion and Reo.

Front Diff and motor mount is built. People on rctech said I have to use ceramic diff balls...and not the stock ones.?
I chose not to and they said it was a bad idea.....oh well, I had no problem out of my dark impact diffs using associated diff lube.
PART ONE...BUILD THE DIFFS...MOTOR MOUNT AND PAINT THE BODY

Super nice car...the screws are indeed titanium...wow!! Simply Georgeous to the eyes..
This blue threadlock will bullet-proof the car...I used it all over the chassis screws in the aluminum...wow!! Awesome car.
Here's part two of the build.

I race a TRF 501X and mine is all stock. There has been no need for me to do any mod's so far. It's a great car right out of the box.
I would post pictures(if I knew how).

Here takedown here's part 3 of the build...lookie!
Added Arms, turn buckles, and the front Jconcepts rims with the already glued Losi pink taper pins.
Albion is gonna rock with this ride on the track 4-sure![8D]
Notice the front caster blocks and rear caster blocks are aluminum. The worlds kit comes with these upgrades.
LOL the only thing plastic on the entire car chassis(-minus the awesome shock caps and tamiya engraved ball-cups-)is the arms.

Here's my 501x WE body I painted 2 days ago-- it turned out very cool looking as I used a parma devil tail paint mask.
Click the 2nd pic because I labeled them for you in the picture.[8D]

RE: Upgrades*Tips and Tricks* for the Tamiya 501x*Worlds Edition*
Well, I did put the ceramic bearings in the car, but I used the stock metal sheilded steering rack bearings.
These ceramic bearings are indeed alot smoother, out of the box the car looks like a tank, even more of a tank than a B44.
The B44 is a rock also. My shock towers on the 501x have 4mm of carbon fiber, whereas my B44 is 3mm.
After 2 weekends of practice my B44 is still unbroken, only time will tell if my 501x will hold it's own ground just like my B44.

He's gonna help me set this BA ride up for Linton and Albion. He lives here in town and is one of owensboro's best RC racers.

Jconcepts Rulux rims on Losi pink Taper Pins. Jconcepts does make nice stuff. Tower carries Jconcepts stuff now.
The stock rims are not that great, and will strip out with brushless power. Need better rims that's all.
The tamiya tires are great though. But I'm racing the 501x to claim a tamiya sponsorship....hopefully...one day.
They already e-mailed me and said they have to get a spot open for me.[8D]

RE: Upgrades*Tips and Tricks* for the Tamiya 501x*Worlds Edition*
Are the Jconcept rims made for the 501X? Some rims will fit on the front of a 501X but won't work because they are to deep where the hex is and it binds on the hub. Don't be afraid of the stock rims. That's all I use and I race every weekend. I run the 6.5 turn velociti Novak motor. Lots of power! If you ever need any advice I would be happy to help. Good luck on the sponsorship.

The 501x has Losi XX-4 style hubs. This has been a standardrized hex system, my B44 front and rear rims will fit the 501x.
B44 battery tray is shoo gooed to the carbon fiber, and the stickers are applied. I think it's awesome looking.
Put my heart and soul into this awesome ride.[8D] Wes thanks for cutting my body out the other day....you really do great work.

Now to get my 501x Tekin Redline 362*Brushless System back from Tekin Inc. I sent it in for repair because I damaged it by accendent[:@]
Thus it voided the warrenty and they have to send me a brand new esc after I pay them. I never even seen that beast of a motor run before..[]
Trying to find a gear chart to get the right gearing for my 501x...

Have you ever broke anything on your 501x. I heard it's one of the toughest buggies ever made.
I have Mostly Aluminum parts on mine.[8D]
If you notice the box included the alumnium caster blocks and pulleys and diffs made for brushless power.

One nice thing about this car B4 spur gears are a direct fit.
And any rim or tire you want to use you can....I just prefer the Jconcepts spoked rims cause how durable they are.
I'll probably never break them.

RE: Upgrades*Tips and Tricks* for the Tamiya 501x*Worlds Edition*
I mounted the speed control behind the motor and the receiver on the servo side. The idea was to not have the motor wires running threw or over the rear belt. However, I am about to change it. the last couple big races I ran was 7 minute mains insted of 5 minutes. My speed control thermaled. I deceided to move it to the other side so I can have the air scoop blowing right on it. Right now the air gets to the motor but, the motor blocks the air from the speed control. by the way, Im not sure how well the Novak GTB will fit in there. I went with the LRP. It's much smaller.
