Here's how I did it...It turned out fine since this version of the 501x is different from the original.
The pulleys are bigger and 4 extra diff balls are used from the original.

After poppin in ACER ceramic bearings I believe I have the smoothest r/c racer ever!

Also notice the B44 battery tray I shoe gooed and dead bolted a while back......ALMOST A DIRECT FIT!

Also the Associated TC4 heat sink was a direct fit also.

Ok so you have yours set up the way I am switching mine to. It doesnt matter what pullies you have you still have to run the wires through the middle of the rear belt or over the top. Which are you going to do? Also the reason I didnt want to configure mine this way is because the receiver covers up the lower motor mount screw. Now to remove your motor you will also have to remove your receiver.

How many runs have you put on your belts. I heard they will last a season or two before they are completly worn out, and need replacing.

A freind of mine has put over 30 runs on his belts and they still look new.
And he's not the original owner of his 501x buggy either.

Another thing I need to ask? Do I need to put the included swaybars on it?
People seem to run fine without it, I was saving the swaybars for Albion and Linton.

I run the winter point season on the same belts. Started in November and ended in March. My front belt is starting to frey but has not broken. I have only owned the car since November. Before that I was a Factory Team Sponsored Driver for MRC/Academy so that's all I can tell you. I will say that I think my front belt rubbed something is why it freyed.

After my First 501x WE run at Reo Raceway, the car felt so smooth....you cant even hear it run, all you heard was the tires ballooning.

The jumps at Reo are awesome, A BIG JUMP onto a table-top...SSSSSSWWWWWWWWWWWWOOOOOOOOOOOOSSSSSSSSSSSHHH HHHHHHH!!!!!!!

LOL

After running WED and Friday practice days the belts are freyed a little bit. Do you cut the strands off or just leave it as is?

I might have had them too tight, they are not freyed seriuosly bad, it just looks ugly..

The 501x worlds is a smooth car that's super quiet with ceramic bearings, you hear the tires balloon, but that's just about it.

It's a very fun car to drive.

These are the cars willing to take on my 501x:
At the April 6th Linton IN race I'll have to put the pedal to the metal on these pro drivers
1(one)Hotbodies Cyclone D4
about 8-10 B44's
2 XXX-4's maybe*
1 Kyosho Lazer Sp or maybe 2
Another 501x maybe*
Racers that are rumored to be there:
In the RCtech.com names they use
Mazdaspeed Chris , Stallard,Robbie, Tim #19, George 69, JR33, Xgod, 501xRacer EX, Mikey, TimW, T4usee, Jeff W.

I'll add more later on if I find out any more, should be the biggest race I've ever been in.

Iv'e RACED mine for month's without a problem with the diff's. I wonder if there is a problem with the "worlds edition". Does anyone know if the diffs are different from the "WE" and the original version?

The power of brushless has nothing to do with the fact of your diffs melting. I have it on good authority that you got super glue in your diffs when you tried to make your own dust shields.

Buying parts for the next race. I may not go to the linton one, rather race in my hometown until the season is over.

Yes RS I know, never again will that happen. What about Stallard has he decided what he's buying next?
I heard he wanted the new slash truck, but I think he would like a 501x its a tough car that will never break in a long race.
Unless you collide with a 8th scale truggy you'll be fine.

Wait til that Tekin 501x hits Albion, you'll be peeing your pants.

Nope running the 501x in oct at Albion again which I bought it for trophy races and distant club races.
I have cleaned my 501x to look as sharp as ever and I mounted the Tekin motor in the chassis.

I made custom diff covers and the front end is fine.
The rear I accendently got super glue down in the diff(making a diff cover)practically ruining the rear pulley and melting the diff balls.
My local track cannot get the original pulley in, so the 36 tooth TA-05 pulley I will have to use with the tungsten diff balls.[&o]
Hopefully I shouldnt have any problems after that..

My 501x is gonna be raced for the first time Friday at Reo Raceway.
I have hit practice with this car and that is all.

I'm gonna have a professional solder it for me though...that will be Wesinator eating the Baconator....lol
