Default Switching from nitro to electric

I've decided to switch frm nitro to electric but was wondering.. I want a brushless setup in my electric soo...

what should I get for a truck.. I want a stadium truck(rustler,evader,E-firestorm)

Hopefully, I'll be able to sell my Traxxas S-maxx For atleast 200 so if I decide to get the VXL I only have to get another $150 or so, to get a good set of batteries and a good charger.

Default RE: Switching from nitro to electric

I would just start off with a Rustler VXL and not have to worry about buying the new system later on. I have a Stampede VXL and they are really fast with good batteries. Altogether I spent about $500 in like 2 weeks. This is what I bought...

Stampede VXL: $269
Charger: $60
Ener-G battery(7 cell 4600mah): $60
DuraTrax(6 cell 4200mah): $40
Pirahna(6 cell 2000mah): $15
adapter for charger(2): $10
female high current connectors for 2 batteries: $8
RPM Front Bumper: $6

I think that's it so far.

Yeah I'm leaning more toward the VXL myself, Because if I buy the rustler XL-f its like 213.00 off of tower plus the mamba max system is like 212.00 so all together i'd be spending around 425.00. It makes more sense to buy the VXL and use the other money for a good set of batteries and a charger.

Yes indeed. I would go with the rusty VXL and not have to worry about upgrading anything later on. Plus, the rustler is EXTREMELY durable. Good Luck

Just curious why your going from nitro to electric? I'm doing the opposite as you right now, i'm switching from electric to nitro. Also a couple of my buddies have the e-firestorm and it's a really sweet car, they really like it.

The Rustler is a great truck. I have no problems with mine. You just always want to make sure something better isn't out. I think either way, they are good cars.

Brushless power? Keep in mind new tires now and then.

I picked other, do a 4wd they are more fun. There are now six or seven different 4 wd 10th trucks that you could convert from nitro, the hpi mt2 is the one I did but CEN has a new truck coming out thats electric to start with.

I chose the E-firestorm as well, But not with the mamba system. they will be selling a brushless version with a sidewinder copy setup that is programmable with the castle link (same as planes and the mamba 25esc's). I would normally say a T4 associated, but with its sealed diff and steel gears, the E-firestorm is almost a T4 basher (Look at it, they are almost identical). My vote is for the E-firestorm brushless

I would have to say wait for the new firestorm fulx like others have sed. The E firstorm has been proven to be a solid truck a friend of mine has one and it is an awesome truck. They are also more race/track worthy then a rusty imo.

Just curious why your going from nitro to electric? I'm doing the opposite as you right now, i'm switching from electric to nitro. Also a couple of my buddies have the e-firestorm and it's a really sweet car, they really like it.
The reason I am changing is because up here in maine the temp changes can be crazy in the summer (50 one day to 70 to 90 the next day) so tuning can be a real pain in the butt. another reason is that alot of people up here think they' re annoying and call the cops on you. there are not a lot of people that have them so bashing by yourself gets pretty boring. My friends all have electrics, one has a Duratrax evader ST that will be converted to mamba this summer and my other friend has a AE B4, Plus, T-maxx parts and 40 series parts get expensive when your only 15 without a job. I liked nitro but it was too much of a hassle, to clean up and tune. I wanted something that would be close in speed and durability to my S-maxx so I decided to go brushless.
