Default My new toy

I just picked up a used Losi XX-CR roller. Its full of hop ups. It has all graphite shock towers, a-arms, chassis braces, and chassis, MIP CVD's, lunsford titanium turnbuckles, Fantom hinge pin braces and an RPM gear guard. It came with a bunch of spare parts, bodies, wheels and tires, and some other stuff. I just ordered some stuff from tower. It came with a nice Futaba servo and I threw in an HPI craptastic radio I had. I got a Trinity 13t speed gems kobal motor, Duratrax 8t esc, Team Orion 3000mah batteries and some other odds and ends for it. I plan on racing it this summer. What do you guys think?

It should fly pretty good with that 13t motor. How much did you get all that for?

I paid $150 for all of it. I also forgot to mention I got about half a dozen older motors with it too.

The guy I bought it from used to race with Todd Hodge when he first got started. One of the motors I got was a hand wound 13t wound by Todd Hodge himself.

It wouldnt hurt. but they only help a little from what ive heard. Do you have a temp gauge? If not get 1 there cheap and they can save you the hassle of killing the comms and brushes, or even worse getting to hot and killing the magnets inside the motor.

A temp gauge will also help you with gearing the motors. If they get to hot just put on a smaller pinion and see what temps you get next run.

Edit: Heres a *descent cheap [link=http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXEMG5&P=7]Temp gauge[/link]

Thats the temp gauge I have. I'll pick up a heatsink next time I go to the hobby shop. It should help if I'm racing right?
