Default Best Lipo

I bought 2 IB4200 packs to use this season, but they are junk, looks like I'm not the only one having issues with them.

So I thought I might as well bite the bullet and go with Lipo and be done with it.

Are Orion Lipo and Trakpower about the best batteries?

I want 3200 or 3600 packs to use in a B4.

Probably get the Triton 2 or Triton Jr and ballancer, and a lipo sack for piece of mind.

If anybody has any other recommendations for batteries or chargers please let me know.

Thanks

Enerland XQ Series have a 30c constant discharge rate while Maxamps has a 20c constant discharge rate.

Lol speed959 believes everything Traxxas tells him. His statement is very far off. Maxamps are GOOD lipos, but there are higher performing ones out there. Great for the price and they cater to all the traxxas' newbies needs.

Anything that uses Enerland cells are a safe bet. Flightpower, Trakpower, Thunder Power, Polyquest, PolyRC, Hyperion, and Neu are all top quality choices.

Maxamps is good, but not best. They do have outstanding customer service though.

The one good thing about Maxamps is that they are the same length as a 6 cell battery pack.

Is it for racing? I'd personally settle for a 6000hv 2s from maxamps. If you are stock, or even mod, you'll get everything you'll ever need out of that battery, plus its lighter than nimh, yet you probably won't have to add weight like you would with some of those smaller lipos. I believe the 6000 comes slightly under your average pack weight. Plus you could get away with a few races before you'd need to top off. If you do 5 min. races with a lot of time between, you could get away with one of these and call it good. It would be like the best matched nimh pack you've ever had.

Who knows, you can't really go off of what too many people say either. You just gotta try for yourself. I have a maxamps 2s, first lipo after nimh. Made a huge impressive improvement, so in my opinion its a great battery. I have nothing to compare it to. Then you get these maxamps trash talkers who come in and start runnin their mouth, they probably never had one, but just jump on the bandwagon cuz other people say they are no good. I also have a hyperion 3s that is equally good, but I can't compare that to the 2s because of voltages, so other than that, I have no idea what a supposed "good" lipo is supposed to feel like. Mine run strong and hold the voltage to the end and provide awesome run times and so much more kick than any nimh I've had.

I like my Enerland cells Hyperion 5350LCX 3s. Might only be 16c, but it runs my VXL fine, is cheaper compared to others, and has a 2c charge rating so I can charge it at over 10a.

Oh yeah, its a world of difference between lipo and nimh. Im getting all the amps I need and it holds the voltage throughout. Going to have to relearn throttle control.
