Default triton jr power supply question?????

hey guys,

on tower is states that i have to use a 11v-15v dc power supply only. i have no problem with that. but how much current should the power supply give???
would a 3a do or would i need higher???[&:]
my main issue with buying chargers is that their designed for american house supplys. irish houses have a different connector and supply 240ac.[:@]

thanks again guys.

Glad they are designed for a 12 volt dc. A power supply of 12voltx3 amps will allow you to charge at that same power 36 watts.
Maybe 30-35 to be safe. Anything over that will require a power supply up to the max power of the TritonJR of 63 watts. A 75 watt (or more) ps would be perfect for maxxing it out.

It depends on your chargeing job, so my question is how much power are you going to use? Mutiply output volt x current to get answer.

I bought the Super Brain 977. I am able to take a computer power cable and plug it in to the thing because the input is from 110v to 240v.

Even the 969 power supply would be great for the TritonJR , that's what pwers mine most of the time.

It depends on how high of an amperage you want to charge at. If you want to be able to charge your batteries at 5 amps then a 3 amp power supply isn't going to cut it.

i only want to charge at 3amps. anything over that requires a different adaptor for the balancer and 3 amps is plenty for me.
guver i dont fully understand you but i have a rough idea of what your at. so if i want to charge at 3amps the 3amp one that gives 13.5v would do right?????
or should i get 5 amp 12v or what would be ideal????
thanks again

Default RE: triton jr power supply question?????

It depends on the current AND the voltage (multiply them together and use wattage to decide)

3 amps x 2 volts = 6 watts
3 amps x 20 volts = 60 watts

figuring it backwards on the input (power supply)

6 watts / 12 volts = .5 amp
60 watts / 12 volts = 5 amps.

The max power that a Triton JR can pull is 63 watts so if you'd like to max it out at times then get the 13.8 x 5 amp ps (69 watts) OR bigger.
