Default Looking For New Brushed E-Maxx Motors. Please Read and Reply.

I am looking to buy some new motors for my E-Maxx, because I think my motors on my 3906 E-Maxx are starting to wear out. Over time it has seemed progressively slower. But I am not really sure how to tell if my motors really are worn out. They are the stock motors that came with the 3906 E-Maxx, 23 turn Titan 550's. I cant really take them apart to tell if the comm or brushes are worn out. I would say I have about 50 to 70 runs on the truck, but I am not sure exactly, and its been about 9 months since I first got the truck. Could someone tell me how to for sure tell if these Titan's are finally degrading?

For replacement motors, which would be best?

The Trinity Monster Maxx Mild E-Maxx Motor, which is 21 turns - http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXWR55&P=7

Or the Trinity Monster Maxx Wild E-Maxx Motor, which is 19 turns - http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXWR56&P=7

I am looking for good torque but a better top speed than what the stock Titan 23 turn motors provide. Maintenance is not really an issue for me.
I was thinking that the 21 turn might be better, because I could still use the stock gearing (its the 3906 old E-Maxx with 2 speed, pinion and spur is 18/66), and get a bit better speed and still have good torque. I am also running full CVD's and light weight 40 series low profile tires, and Ener-G 4600 mAh 6 cell side by side packs.

So could someone please recommend me a good motor of those 2, or if you know of something better, or at least point me in the right direction as to which would be better for my situation. Thank you.

EDIT: AND NO I DO NOT WANT BRUSHLESS, SO DONT EVEN BOTHER TRYING TO TELL ME TO GET BRUSHLESS. I like brushed motors because they can get wet and not be harmed, and I like to go muddin' and drive through water with my E-Maxx.

that's a lot of cash to drop, I'd say replace with stockers if you're not ready for brushless yet

Cash isn't an issue at all actually. But I just don't want brushless in this truck, and the stockers aren't quite fast enough for my liking.

He has the best brushed motors on the market. The 650 revolvers are a direct drop in and are better than stock for the same money

I tried the trinity motors and they are alittle faster than stock but last 1/2 as long. I dont recommend

About how much run time would I get with those? Would it be less than what I get with the Titans? If so, how much less? I am running Ener-G 4600 mAh 6 cell side by side packs if that helps at all.

These? http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXJ766&P=7

Would they have enough torque for an E-Maxx with 18/66 gearing and 2 speed tranny?

are you stupid or something?

you need a new motor plate and pinions to use them, the stock evx wouldnt handle them and it would make the emaxx a brick....

I agree with everyone else.
Though, I CAN vouch for the dual 970s...
The previous guy who started talkin !@#$ along with the text dual970s... Is a total tard. (sorry mods)

www.kershawdesigns.com

They're INSANELY fast.
They're INSANELY powerful.

You DO have to replace pinions, motor plate, and such.
But, Dan, kershawdesigns.com, has a conversion kit, which includes EVERYTHING.

These are advertised as, as fast as brushless, at a fraction of the cost. I have NEVER had brushless, so I'm not saying anything on that.
But, these, REALLY ARE fast...

In a few days, I'm going to be posting up a review on them, in the Traxxas Forum..

Two Monster Wilds, are roughly 45.
45+45=90.

There you go. The dual 970s are CHEAPER than those. (Shipping not included).

I have yet to break anything, but that's because my brothers, neighbors, and parents are trying out the EMaxx, and I programmed it, NOT to use full throttle (reprogrammed EVX, to half throttle....)

Also,
I talked to Dan, about the using the STOCK EVX.

He said they were based on EVX-2, but CAN be used for EVX-1.
He told me that if you're running the stock EVX-1, that the heat should be monitored.
I would recommend a fan blowing on it...

Though, I just bought a EVX-2, that I'm using. And have yet to use the EVX-1 with the dual970s.

I hope you good luck in what you buy, and let us all know!

i have the kershaw 700-ho motors same power as the 970s but no were near the weight. i get the same run time with these that i had with the stock titans but tons more speed and torque. the kits come with everything you need all you have to do is solder on the capacitors that dan includes and put it all in the truck. easy and outstanding upgrade for only like $100.

I actually just ordered these. They have 2x as many watts as the Titans, put out 7000 more RPM at the same voltage, and have some more torque.

Thanks to all that helped.

Yeah, I was told to get some Monster MICRO Wild motors.... I foolisly thought they were fine... Got em, and they were at least, half the size of my titans.. Just noticed, that there were the REAL Monster wilds.. Let me know how those S-600s go. I was going to get those, before I saw the 970upgrade.

Will do man. Check in The Beater Builds Thread probably on like the 17th, I should have a performance report by then.
