LRP A.I. ESC'S
I am looking for a new ESC, considering the LRP Bullet A.I,
Question is I hear alot of people complaing about a delay in full throttle, is it just the first time full throttle is applied after the battery pack is changed or every time full throttle is applied.
Also can someone explain in a bit of detail what the delay is like?
Thanks

RE: LRP A.I. ESC'S
I have an LRP Ai esc (not the bullet), the delay I get is going from forward to reverse. This is probably a good thing for me, or I'd be slammin the tranny all the time. From what I understand, the guys who drive crawlers do not care for this. I sold most of my brushed stuff, kept the lrp ai because its waterproof.

RE: LRP A.I. ESC'S
there's actually supposed to be a delay.
Some esc's wait 2-3 seconds after the car is fully stopped, then they automatically throw it in reverse.

Yeah, I own one of these ESC's. I had it in my crawler, but I had to take it out. I'm still not a huge fan of the delay though. I don't mind the traxxas ESC's where you tap reverse twice to get it, much better than the delay in my case.

RE: LRP A.I. ESC'S
I find with the AI ESC's they dont respond quick enough...
I had an LRP AI Runner PLUS Reverse 15T and it was sluggish on Acceleration and Top end..
I changed to an M-Troniks RV 15 and it has a Far better acceleration response and about 2 seconds quicker per lap (on road)
Because the AI ESC has to detect throttle parametres, I found that it lost response when quick Acceleration pulses were applied (like when drifting)

RE: LRP A.I. ESC'S
Thanks for the info, I will look for a non AI esc,
I never is was abig deal programming esc's before, it takes a whole 10 - 20 seconds.
Team Associated has Quantum Pro Reverse on Ebay for $70, I think I'll pick one of them up.

RE: LRP A.I. ESC'S
I will email Castle and see what the specs are for the Sidewinder, not listed on the website.
Alot of people are using the Mamba Max with dual brushed motors, also has a 3 amp BEC, which is important for a clod as the servo's are high torque.
Any ESC can be used with dual motors.
For example, An ESC rated for a single 10 turn motor, can run dual 20 turn motors in parallel,
or dual 5 turn in series(nobody runs them in series though).

RE: LRP A.I. ESC'S
eats up your batt's too quick. And the motors only get half you pack voltage. (when they are in series)
Just don't try it with two brushless motors, an d you'll be fine. You need two ec's for that.
