Nicads will build up a memory and won`t get as much runtime or power out of the pack . Nimh require equalizing so all cells are at the same voltage to get better runtime and power .

RE: discharging a battery pack
Hard to say. Best bet is to get a account on ebay or rctech.net/forum as they have a huge for sale/trade forum with alot of novak smart trays going for $30-$40 shipped. Think of it tis way. it stops when it gets to .9 volts her cell. .9 X 6= 5.4 volts for a 6 cell battery. When you charge them they go up to around 8.5-9 volts and the Novak Smart Tray discharges at 2.7 amps. Do you have a side by side pack where you can see the battery bars that connect the cell or a stick pack? You cant use the novak smart tray on a stick pack.
