Default RE: battery connector question

Deans and other high current connectors allow more current through allowing more power through and dont allow heat build up or foul the connectors the tamiyas are good upto 8.4v on small packs ie 3000mah anything higher and they build up heat and will melt in the end.
If your tamiya plugs are building up heat stop running and let then cool off or swop to deans, traxxas or other high current connectors

Deans or traxxas connectors will let more current flow, You will get a little more runtime and a little more power. You can notice it so switch. It also cuts down on heat and wasted battary.

If you're doing really high amps then i'd suggest deans over traxxas. I've never been able to find what traxxas is capable of, only that it's "high". Deans have been tested up to and over 100 amps. That's a 20C 5000mah battery.
