The Durga is what came out when the tamiya 501x and losi xxx-4 had a baby. It is based off a better design than the DI.

Well You shouldn't be getting water on the belts because its all sealed off. I vote the Durga because I own it. I think the buggy is perfect.

I think this vote should be limited to people who actually know something about both buggies....

The Durga is a newer chasis, better set up features, based on the race bred and winning TRF 501X.

your a jerk, all i said was that the df03 i think would be better because it is shaft driven, and seriously i know about both buggys, ive been looking to buy one for my self, also i probably own a lot more tamiyas then you. also sorry i didn't know the belts were water sealed, i thought they were dust n dirt sealed

What about for non-racing use? Do the belts last long? Brushless?

Really... I own about 7 tamiyas... including 2 durgas and while the belts aren't advertised as water sealed, you'd have to submerge it in order to get water in there.

I own 5 shaft driven rc vehicles and 3 belt.... who's got more experience???

oh ya, that's 8 out of the 25 RC vehicles between the helis cars/trucks and boats I have...

so ya, I have a lot of experience...

all my vehicles are brushless except for one. if you're looking for something water resistant (splash proof) then i'd personally pick the durga, the entire drive train is enclosed.

i wasn't being a dick, i was pointing out the fact that he was making comments on a buggy he obviously had no experience with. would you like advise from someone when they don't know what they're talking about? he didn't ask the question to get uninformed opinions from a fanboy.

I pointed out the truth, some people can't handle it... their problem not mine.

don't make comments like this if you can't back it up.... something you should learn pretty early in life if you don't want to look like a fool.

thank you

druss just because you have all toughs vehicles doesn't mean you have experience, it just means you have money to waist on more then one of the same cars. and your in the car & truck forum right know, so no one cares about how many helis and boats you got. i also know all i need to know about these buggys because i (at one point) was stuck in between the choice of these buggys, i did me research, the shaft driven is just plan stronger then some wimpy belts

ok i'm sorry, i only own 10 rc cars or trucks... is that better?

you're still not making any informed comments on the subject... you took it off topic not me.

btw, you stated that you owned more than me to make a point, you lost the point... don't blame me.

to the OP, the durga is a newer better chasis with better options on setting it up including multiple shock attachment points, it has a fully sealed drive train including the spur, both belts and both diffs. Bottom line is the Durga is better in everyway that counts and it should be because it IS newer and also based on the race winning TRF501X.

Wow, several of these people arguing (not Druss who just happens to be satisfying the posted "qualifications" to post in this thread) are being insecure internet bullies. No, just little children I guess. Cool guys...

Get the Durga, as stated before. Newer and greater design. Why buy an older model? If price isn't an issue of course.

I don't see where you get off calling me a "dick" either? So you and he can get off calling me a "jerk" and "dick" because what? I said you should have some knowledge of what you're talking about in order to vote? Don't you think you SHOULD know what you're talking about before voting?

I think I've been pretty reasonable, for instance, I never once resorted to the type of personal attacks like calling people names... btw, I haven't been name called like this since grade school.

I think his entire argument can probably be summed up by his last post.

I'm wondering the same... You were just stating your, again, "qualifications" to be giving an opinion in this thread to someone who apparently needs them.

Guys, Druss is the coolest guy around. Helpful and, uh *cough*kind*cough and has tons of experience.

advantages of belt drive is alot less friction, its smoother than shaft (ive driven a belt touring car [X(] so smooth) shaft's are stronger, but aren't AS smooth as belts, belts need more work, checking tension, once its set though your good to go IMO go with the newer design, its got more of a following....
