I am pretty sure Castle still coats the boards with a wax like stuff to seal all the connections, at least my Max was like that.

there not waterproof, dont run electronics near water, unless it says its waterproof, and sence you had to ask it isnt, if it was they would advertise

castle creations, does coat the top of there esc's and such with a spray/wax that makes it water resistant, but not fully.
Castle Creations says " it can take running threw a few puddles every so often by accident" but are no fully waterproof
I went threw acouple of puddles with mine by accident when I lost control, no effect to anything, but at the end of the day running, I took my esc and motor out of my truck and aired it out
