They will both have heat issues but less with the 3500. why do you want to run 4s. what are you putting this in? To run 4s you will need a mamba max with external bec or a monster mamba.

in addition to the bec you'll need to change the bullets on the motor to 4mm

i want to run a 4s just for fun, i was gonna run an external bec, it will be going in a extended stampede. my sidewinder 4600 used to wheelie when it was a normal pede, but now theres just a little to much weight, so it needs a little more kick

Hmmm, I bet you could get it done just with a Medusa 036-050-3300V2 and stick with 3S. No need to step-up to 4S and all the add-ons required for that. This 4 pole motor will have lots of torque so you can gear it up! Yeah that would be a great setup for a heavyweight Pede.

How are you not getting a stampede to wheelie with lipo? I wheelie all the time on 6S with the stock titan. Maybe change your gearing. I do believe the mamba max would handle 4s better than the velineon, the mamba max is rated 3s lipo, 12s nimh and has lower internal resistance. The velineon 3500 motor would be better for 4s. You could even use the mamba monster if you want your ESC to laugh at 4s.

Ah, I see you extended it. And my advice no longer matters since you have decided on 3s. Good choice.
