Default best t4 brushless setup

If I am looking at upgrading my t4 to a brushless what is the best brushless setup right now?

I was looking at the mamba max 5700 but would be willing to look at anything in that price range....

I have not been able to find any good specs on the 5700 motor? Specs everywhere on the speed controll but nothing on the motor does anyone know the max and peak amps for this motor?

If you are going to race you want a sensored setup if not the mamba max would be a good set up also. I not sure how many amps the 5700 pulls, but if you want power the medusa 36-50 afterburners give you all you need. I would use 3300,4800 or the 5900 with the mamba max speed control. I have the 4800 and love it runs very cool.

Novak Havoc/10.5=$150. 2x orion 3800 ($90 each) or Orion 4800 (more runtime, less ppower) ($110). All you need in a truck is that sensored and lipo setup and you will be pretty fast.

I would do lrp before novak for sensored combos easier to setup and more settings.

if you want the BEST check out tekin, they got some good stuff... and orion, (giving props to the guys who you don't hear about a lot... ) but tekin for sure they got some great stuff... then like novak, and the best comes at a price of 250+ if you want the BEST...

Tekin has good stuff but are expensive and not any better than lrp or novak. Novak makes the best sensored motor in my opinion.

lrp is the most money for racing until the orions come out but they rock novak is second only because of less esc tuning options for bashing vxl will do its 164 vs 212 for a mamba in my t4 i run an lrp tc esc with a team checkpoint 5400 lipo and lrp x-12 5.5 motor i also use team check point power supply and there tc1030 charger and lipo adapter o and there 7x2 motor if you cant tell i really like team check point stuff because it is really hi qaulity and has a nice price tag too

The tekin esc is the best you can buy, easy to best, hook it up to your computer to tune via usb, and buttery smooth. The novak motor is the best you can buy.

Novak havoc comes with a Novak motor which is among the best 1/10th scale motor you'll find in a typical hobby shop. And it's pretty cheap.
Sensored means you can be assured it will have good control at any speed, even when starting from a dead stop.
By the way the next version of the Mamba Max (Mamba Max Pro) will be sensored-capable too, the current one is not. But it still drives very well.

Yeah it keeps weight down, and I find its easier to help balance the truck and get it to jump better. And since I'm using a 5.5 I've got plenty of speed to keep up with everybody else.

I wonder how does the weight of the 4-cells compare to a 2S LiPo?!

The 4-cell is slightly lighter, but it isn't huge maybe like 30-40 grams. It's more because I can use the whole battery tray to move the battery around and get better balance.

I got a Novak xbr sport 8.5 seems pretty fast but not as fast of a system that can handle 3 or 4 cell lipos im running just regular nimh batteries right now. Kinda wish i would of gotten the vxl system but i want to race it so i went with novak.

do either the novak or lrp support a usb adapter for fine tuning?

what is the cheapest sensored setup that does?

Actually the cheapest sensored systems to use a usb adapter are the Losi Xcelorin systems.
