Just did a few upgrades on my DT. Dropped in a h2o proof xl5 esc, speed gems amber motor and a traxxas h20 proof rx box, Traxxas 2075 h2o proof servo (truck is now half traxxas, lol). Fully waterproofed now. Just wondering what kind of tires and wheels to upgrade to. I wonder how the Evader EXT2 wheels will fit/look?

Well ext2 wheels are dirt cheap. $11 for a set of 4 so its worth the risk.

Yeah I am wondering if the EXT2 wheels and tires will fit on the DT as well. I put a Blitz ESC and motor in my DT. Lots of fun.

I can assure you the EXT2 wheels work fine.. Here is my DT. I just put a CC Sidewinder SCT 3800KV combo in it. Flies on 2s Lipo....

I have only ran it 1 time on stock gearing so far. Waiting on stupid snow to melt off the roads in my neighborhood. I just changed it to 18t pinion, and stock 88t spur. It was pretty fast with the stock 20t pinion. I will try to get a video of it once i am able too. I am definately lovin the upgrade though. Was a snail with the stock setup.

Like i put my EXT2 wheels and tires on my DT just for fun but never even thought of trying it because they hang up like crazy in the front and rear fender wells... no way the DT will work any good with the EXT2 tires on!

I have no issues at all on mine. They dont rub at all. Cant adjust the rear mounts, and my front i have on the 2nd hole from the bottom. I have taken corners pretty quick on the concrete too. The front almost do though. Pretty close. But they dont.  I have used them for a while now. I just taped the rears and glued them on due to the brushless system in it now.  I also have 40 weight shock oil too. I suppose if you have lower, or havent changed it at all, then you would rub. My shocks were darn near empty when i got the truck. They had maybe half fluid in each one. Filled them up with 40 weight. Works great.

those EXT2 tires look sweet on that DT i love that look, and MC i know we talked about htis over the sumer but i saw that bx with the SC tires and it is quite sexy i must say...

as for a dt being a good trail truck i'd say with a little gearing/tire and suspention change it could be for sure

Would have been better to find a REAL looking body on the buggy though. But yeah I thought it was pretty cool and it actually didnt drive bad that way either.

Trail truck ............................ That sounds interesting.

So after my rear shock exploded I thought I would get some new shocks. I just bought some HPI blitz shocks for $17.90 shipped not bad. So as I was taking all my wheels off I noticed that my left front wheel is cracked in the inside where the bearing sits. I thought cool now I get to use my spare! The spare is a rear wheel.... [:@] Well damn, What are some good wheels and tires that fit the DT? I do like the EXT2 tires though.

no offence, but that is what prerunners do, they are designed to fly through desert trails. and the dt is supposed to be a prerunner.

Not that i have noticed. Front Wheel spin freely. But thats no big deal anyways. Nothing a lil sand paper, or dremel cant fix.

you could put a few washers on the front axel to widen things up a little bit, if there isn't too much the way or you may have to sand...

I like the look of this truck it's very scale looking. Kinda like with HPI making the scale Mini Trophy Truck.

Cool thanks for the tips guys. I brought the truck with me to work so I will see if I get those pesky wheels to turn at lunch time!
