I think the reason that "people" seemed to get a bee in their bonnet, at least on page 4 of the thread, was the wording of your previous post (which was "To answer the question asked - This was my first Lipo Fire and I believe with charging properly the risk outweighs the benefits") suggests the opposite of what you just wrote. I think you meant that you believe the benefits outweigh the risks, but said the opposite.

For the record, I am still using and have no plans to stop using Lipos

Crist, thats scary. I'm using the stock chargers for my 7cell stock summit batts. 14hours of charging at night in my room near the smoke alarm. Guess i'll never get lipos, that would be me, burn down the damn house.

I made a newbie mistake in charging my lipo unattended and with a less-then-great charger

Here is a link to the Story

Here are some pictures of the damage

Iagree that User error was the reason the lipo fire was able to burn my truck and other things due to the fact that the crappy charger and I was sleeping

but it could have happened with a decent charger and im not sure what I would have done would I have been right there (I am not sure if Iwould grab it and throw it outside for fear of getting blasted by flames etc)

in any event, the moral of this story is we should follow all charging rules and be safe and we will have fun with this great hobby

Sorry to start a battle

*************To answer the question asked - This was my first Lipo Fire and I believe with charging properly the risk outweighs the benefits***********

I apologize for the mistake - I did mean, the benefits outweigh the risks, my mistake

Do not be discouraged from using lipo, just take this as a lesson learned - Be safe and have fun
