pretty much the hole truck can be alum. The only parts that you cant get, is the motor/transmission area in the rear.

Nice 'pede! ...I guess you can never have enough spare bodies layin' around! :D

I like the HPI SS wheels too (have a set on my Evader, so they gotta be cool).

I don't have a 'pede, but thought I'd give a big [sm=thumbup.gif]

IMO the race truck bodies look terrible, but your paint jobs are all real nice.

no way that race truck looks awsome...."45" what type of body is it?.... would it fit my evader?....all thoes trucks look sweet... nice paint jobs![sm=bananahead.gif]

RE: OFFICAL PEDE THREAD

Looks to me like a Pro-Line GMC Sierra (maybe for the T/E-maxx?). Most of the maxx bodies will fit your evader with a little persuasion... If you don't want to do the paint and cutting, Atomik makes some cool pre-painted and pre-cut bodies for the maxx trucks that you could fit on the evader as well.

True true...

Yea that's a GMC seirra body, quite frankly the only reason we did that body was becasue my brother has a silver GMC Z71, (not baja;)) Its pretty cool, so we tryed to make a replica. But they make a GMC body thats made for ST's unlike this t-maxx e-maxx one. The st is smaller and from what I have herd fits better! Thanks,

RE: OFFICAL PEDE THREAD

I like the maxx bodies, myself - they're a bit wider and give you more of a 'monster truck' look. ...or at least if you want a more realistic appearance, the fenders are a bit closer to the wheels. (a 6" wide body on a 13" wide truck just isn't realistic in my eyes!) :D

With the wider 'maxx bodies, your truck looks a lot more like a real truck that's been lifted and fitted with monster mudders. ...it's perfect

T/e maxx bodys fit as it says above ;)

45mph pede 11-21-2004 05:23 PM

RE: OFFICAL PEDE THREAD

any 2.2 size tires will fit, I have pullers with hpi rims. Rember to get 4 rear ones, not 2 front 2 back. As for the body's some are marked 'pede' and 'st' those will fit the best, but the t-emaxx ones will fit with a lil 'overhang'

Yes they will... should be an exsact fit because all a pede is, is a rusty with a different chassis...

RE: OFFICAL PEDE THREAD

what should i do if i wan't to run a pede in the snow or sand (don't have my pede yet but i will soon :D )
and (45mph pede) what surfaces do you get good traction on with those truck pullers?

45mph pede 11-28-2004 02:06 PM

RE: OFFICAL PEDE THREAD

Mostly run them on loose surfaces like snow, dirt... and some off road serfaces like rocks, grass weed's, ect. They work on road, but they tend to make everything get hot. If you want to run your non-brushless pede you just need to cover the esc so no water get in, then you need to eather cover up or water-proof your sevo and receiver. Keep in mind that the pede is a light 2wd car and to get any kind of traction your going to need tire chain's or big pullers. Your motor is fine because its basicly waterproof anyway. Make sure when you get in from that bashing to dry everything off, then put it upside down to make sure the water gets out of every nook and crany. You might also think of getting some alum. screws from 'hex screws' because they wont rust. Best of luck,
-Wes

aliens8mycow 11-28-2004 02:49 PM

RE: OFFICAL PEDE THREAD

Simple way to waterproof is to use balloons. The mtroniks esc's are already waterproof, so that would be a good deal if you want to get wet.

For servos and receivers, cut the ring off the end of the balloon (where you blow it up) and put the receiver in. You're gonna have to stretch the neck of the balloon quite a bit. Let the wires run out the opening in the balloon, and put some vaseline in the opening. Use a zip tie to strap it tight around the wires.

On a servo, same deal - just add one step for the gear. Once it's all in a sealed up, use a screwdriver or something to make a small hole where the servo arm needs to bolt on, and pull that hole over the gear so it's exposed. Put some vaseline on there, and install it. You'll need some vaseline where the mounting screws mount to the servo ears too, but the threads will usually pop throught the balloon without you needing to cut a hole.

RE: OFFICAL PEDE THREAD

Oh I forgot sand, you dont realy need to do anything but watch your motor, and dont get anywhere close to the salt water!!!! Get some sand paws, and get the swami-bar so that you dont get as much sand in the motor, and get some compressed air and spray everything off real good when your done.
-Wes

aliens8mycow 11-28-2004 04:22 PM

RE: OFFICAL PEDE THREAD

yeah - the motor is the really big deal with sand. Not a bad idea to take the motor apart and make sure the sand is out when you're done. Sand finds it's way everywhere, though. Make sure it's not hiding anywhere, because if you have a few little grains somewhere, as you run your truck in future, the vibration will make those grains of sand act like sandpaper.

I only ran in sand once. Bought a set of paddles and went nuts. Never went back, because it was a pain in the rear to clean up. I decided later to put some different tires on that set of wheels, so I pulled 'em off. You know how your wheels have 2 or 4 holes for air to get in? Each of those paddles had about a spoonful of sand in the tire, I assume from those little holes. The ribs that I had on the front had been run quite a bit since then, so I pulled those off too just to see, and they were still full of sand too!

If I'm gonna play at the beach, it's not with my rc stuff - just good lookin' gals in bikinis! :D

Got a pede off Ebay. Upgraded to Aluminum idler, speed gem pro 17 x 2 motor timed at 10 degrees currently, gonna play with that a little more and see what happens with 15/84 gearing but gonna drop back to 14/84(battery got really hot with the 15 tooth pinion, aluminum shocks, Team Bluestar bearings in transmission, Masher 2000s. Have a Swami bar/brace, aluminum front shock tower, RPM bearing carriers, Team Bluestar 5x11 bearings, on oreder. Also will be switching to suspension pins and doing a wide pede conversion with the HPI Nitro rush arms. Going to get a Diratrax 12t intellspeed ESC and a Hitec 625 servo later on too. :D

Well guys looks like around thursday im getting those awosome shock towers and bulk head. I will get some pictures for ya! In doing that, I have also come up with a tall body mount that will only work if you have those shock towers. I will get yall pictures of that also. Things are movin up on my pede! Still on the list is the swami once pece bar, and hes custom making it so that it goes all the way down the chassis and forms the front brace also. The swami blue screw kit, and blue shock socks, oh and the carbonfyber chassis. Glad to hear all these happy peder's!

Where did you get those awesome tires you have on your pede?

Im already looking at ordering upgrades, first will be the radio and electronics to go with.

Can you post some good links to stampede hop-ups? I already know about swami-rc and tower hobbies, any others that make good stuff for these bad-boys?
