RE: The Official Traxxas Slash short-course race truck
The only con from stock is you lose the...I'm going to jump over the house and maybe not break anything ability.<div>It's not a trailer queen but not a hard core basher</div><div>But if your a racer I don't see any cons,</div>

RE: The Official Traxxas Slash short-course race truck
Ive been having trouble with the on/off button on my ESC sticking. It ends up making it hard to turn on or off and sometimes puts it into programming mode. Most of the time its only a minor inconvenience but it seems to be getting worse. Its the stock vxl system. Any tips on how to get this to stop sticking? Its getting a bit annoying lol

Another tip is don't turn it off just unplug the battery....one less chance of getting something stuck under it each time<div>

RE: The Official Traxxas Slash short-course race truck
Having yet another problem with the Slash. Took it out today and once it gets about 10-15 feet away I lose all function until I get right up on it again. I put brand new batteries in the transmitter thinking that might be the problem but no such luck. I dont beat on this thing and take good care of it so I dont know why I seem to be having so many electrical problems in the first month owning it

RE: The Official Traxxas Slash short-course race truck
Im not a huge fan of the rustlers handle off road. So i say to it.... go RPM parts all the way after the conversion for the SCT look
|
RE: The Official Traxxas Slash short-course race truck
everyone says rpm this and that..sure it is far better then stock and i have it all........wait till you brake something then change it out .no use swaping out good parts that still work.just upgrade as you go.
btw i bought a roller that was all hopped to start and the one in the pic i posted last only has rpm arms up front and that was because i hit a curb and broke the a arm on my original slash i bought when it first came out. but if money isnt a thing then swap the whole thing and go hard core |
RE: The Official Traxxas Slash short-course race truck
correct... 80% there are a few RPM parts worth it from day one on a slash. Rear bumper mount, gear cover, rear skid plate & front skit plate.... IMO they are a must, the rear skid is not a big one to worry aboutif u are running the proline chassis saver.
Why u ask... Rear bumper mount, Its to advoid hard knocks in the rear twisting the stock mount up and damaging the gearbox housing or stripping out the mount bolt holes Gear cover, the stock gear cover has a hole in it just above the axle, that hole lets heaps of dirt onto the gears. RPM gear cover does not have that hole and the hole for sliper adjustment is larger to make things easyer Rear skid plate. the whole gearbox is held in by only 2 screws on the top shock tower and its attached to the rear skid plate & the rear skid plate is held in by to screws thats only 4 screws holding the motor & skid plat in!!.... There has been heaps of cases for the gearbox snaping off the chassis the RPM skid plate has 1 extra screw in the middle of the plate to help advoide this. Front skid plate stops the bellcrank from poping out after a hard landing |
RE: The Official Traxxas Slash short-course race truck
This wasnt actually the problem when you posted this but my most recent problem was this exact same issue and your pictures helped a ton because it would have taken meforever to figure out where it plugged in lol. Thanks a ton man

Im now running the TQi on most of my cars now & love it....with a ipod it makes it so easy to adjust all the setting, only problem ive snaped off the lever to lock down the ipod.... oops wonder if RPM will make a upgrade lever lol

RE: The Official Traxxas Slash short-course race truck

|
RE: The Official Traxxas Slash short-course race truck

RE: The Official Traxxas Slash short-course race truck
Finally got what I been wanting for ever. Pick it up last Thursday. Only upgrade it had was Integy piggy-back aluminum shocks on all four corners and aluminum front spacers so it could run the same 4x4 wheels at each corner. I did a complete tear down/cleaning, replaced the rear springs with stiffer blue ones and added adjustable upper links in the rear so the wheels would be able to tuck into the body instead of smashing into it.
Heres when I got it http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/k...eo1981/132.jpg http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/k...eo1981/133.jpg Then the tear down http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/k...eo1981/134.jpg (wife wasnt too happy that I used the dining table lol) Painted the body http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/k...eo1981/137.jpg Cut the back section out and the windshield to get rid of the "parachute effect" http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/k...eo1981/139.jpg Went down to the beach for some glam shots Heres the best one http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/k...eo1981/151.jpg Future plans: GO BRUSHLESS! |
