hey guys, i just bought an infraction that came with a mamba monster x 6s and a castle 1717 8s motor, i was wondering if the motor is too big that it will make the esc work as hard as it can until it fries the esc?
any thoughts and answers help, thanks

Should be ok as long as you only use a 6s battery. No 8s. Motor won't preform as well on 6s but it shouldn't fry anything. Key point here is don't go above a 6s battery.
