Default RC12l4 ? associated 1/12. help, I don't know what this is.

there are a lot of things that don't line up with the RC12L4.

the chassis has slots for 6 batteries, not 4.

the front design is completely different with a solid aluminum shaft for the front steering assembly, not two separate components.

look closely at the front of each. you can see in my picture on the left the difference between the two kits. that is what is confusing me

you must also consider the rear motor assembly. it is one solid piece of aluminum, and not a composition of carbon and aluminum sides at a RC12L4 is.

thanks for the insight though. I will find this yet.

the last two pics are NOT of the car I have but of a RC12L4 that someone else thought was the same car.

Can anyone help?

it could be an older model, which might have had 6 slots for different battery positions, how large is it? 1/10th? if it is larger than 1/12th, it could be the oval racer from associated.

It's not a associated car it looks like a old Delta 1/12th scale. There is one on ebay right now if you want to compare to.

thanks for the ideas guys. i got some help from some other guys and its an old Delta spider form the early 80's. its one of the first of its kind. its 1/12 scale.

i have a website that i can get tomorrow that shows the historical background of the whole thing.

or you can look at the other thread i started because that is where the other guys posted the websites for me.

now that i know how old and rare it is, i am going to put some time into restoring the entire car.
