Default Just installed electronics and thottle doesn't work

I just installed a used Traxxas XL1 ESC that I got in a trade, a new Futaba S3003 servo, R152JF receiver, and a 6-cell 2000 mah pack into a Tamiya TA05 and the throttle is not working. This is my first electric rc car so I don't really know how it all works, but the steering servo works fine and the throttle gets no response at all.

Assuming everything is set up correctly you may need to adjust the ESC. I tried searching for a manual for the XL1 but didn't come up with anything. Maybe somebody who has experience with that ESC can chime in on how to set it.

Switch the leads in the reciever and see if the ESC works in the slot that the srevo was in. If it does than it is your reciever. If not it might be your esc but try this first. Set the trim to the middle on your transmitter. Turn it on. You may have to turn the phillips adjusters on the ESC to get it to run.

I tried switching the connection on the receiver and it just made it to where the throttle controlled the servo. I also centered the throttle trim and turned the receiver on then tried adjusting the screws on the esc but that did nothing. I'm guessing there is some way to set this esc up but I have no clue how and I can't find an online manual.

Sorry to tell you but more than likely it's gone. If your reciever works on both channels and you can't get it to work with fiddling around with adjusters on the ESC, it doesn't work.

That's what I was afraid of, I guess I'll be having a little chat with the guy I traded with.
