Default Offset wheels

I bought a new HPI BMW body off eBay but when it arrived, it was the 200mm body, not the 190mm body that's used for electrics. The seller was real cool about it and just refunded my money, but I was thinking about just getting a new set of offset wheels/tires since I'm sort of stuck with it. Do you think 3mm offsets would be enough for it to not look goofy, and will this have an impact on handling or wear and tear on my Tamiyas? Thanks for the advice.
