Hey Lee! What up! Thank you for the compliment. I haven't talked to for a while. Have you been keeping busy with sedans?
That's a SWEET collection of cars you've got there. I spy a couple I'd like to have. LOL You need to build those up. This is the perfect thread for you to do a build showcase. You do a really nice job with that and I'm sure there's some people that would really like it. I know I would. So pick one out and start building! LOL
Have you seen the new 15th Anniversary kit Tamiya's going to release? You'll need to get one (or two) of those for your collection.

Hey Vyger & F1 Gang,
I don't have one F1 yet and I can't paint a strait three inch line, I just got this 934 tam-tech RTR 1/12 which is really fun to drive (I also just order the black/gold motor and a 1600 battery).
It's sort of embarrassing to post among your works of art but here it is. [&:]
Some questions for you...
1. What is the difference between the 16 and 18 metal pinion? Faster Vs Torque?
2. It has the GT-01 Chassis. Were can I get instructions for set-up? (Garage cement floor vs carpet? or how to replace the motor?) or is it each on its own?
3. Is it ok to charge a 7.2V 1600 6x2/3A NIMH with the original wall charger that came in the kit for the 7.2V 1100 6x2/3A?
Thanks and Cheers!
(Excuse my spelling, English is my 2nd not well writing or spoken language lol)

All right F1 fans! Look at what TRG is coming out with. They've got a few new body's they're working on and a new servo mount for the F103.
Old school F1 low-nose cars. It looks like they're doing a McLaren MP4/7 and a Williams FW16 with the carbon fiber pattern printed on the inside. This is very cool! I may have to get one of each.
This is a pretty cool little servo mount. It looks solid, yet light weight and it allows you to slide the servo with mount forward and back. This could be helpfull when looking for some more steering. I likes it a lot!

RE: 1/10 RC Formula 1 Cars...lets see'em
Well I got some time tonight to get back to the Sauber. I put the stickers on the rear wing and helmet. I finished the interior and even added a front antenna to the car. Now if I only had mirrors???
Getting started with the helmet I first applied some of Tamiya’s simi-gloss black on the visor and around the edges. Since the helmet is painted white and the sticker has black around this area (the visor). I didn’t want any white seems to show up between the three sticker pieces. So I applied the black paint around these areas. I decided to paint the whole visor so I didn’t have to worry about getting a white shadow burning through the center because only the edges where painted. After the paint had time to dry I laid the remaining stickers. I also pulled out the flat black paint and put an edge on the bottom part of the helmet.
My finished Tamiya Sauber C12 Mercedes
After snapping the pics above and referring to some pics of the real car from the internet. I thought I’d try an old plastic modeling trick I’ve heard about. Since I’m trying to simulate the photo’s I needed to have an antenna on the front of the car. I’ve heard from friends and plastic model builders you can make antenna wires from plastic sprue’s (a sprue is found on injection molded products).
What you’ll need. A third hand (if you don’t have one naturally you can buy one of these at any decent hobby shop), forceps, lighter or candle (I’d suggest a candle it would be way easier to control the heat with one of those), flush cuts, and a sprue.
Trim off a nice straight piece. Then lock the forceps down to hold the sprue. Secure it with the third hand and slowly heat the plastic. Let it get hot and start to cool down before you start pulling. If it’s to hot and you pull it too fast it will just come apart. You want to encourage the plastic to stretch out once it’s loose from heat.
Once the part cooled down I snipped off the end and bent it ninety degrees to make an L shape.
Since the hole I’m needing is smaller than any drill bit I own, I used the tip of a new Xacto knife to slowly make a what I needed. I stopped and measured for size a few times to ensure a snug fit. Once the whole was complete I secured the antenna from the inside of the car using a piece of painters tape. Then I added some black paint. Let me know what you guys think.

RE: 1/10 RC Formula 1 Cars...lets see'em
I have to correct myself from an earlier post. I stated the new TRG Carbon Fiber body pictured is a Mclaren MP4/7, I was wrong. After looking at the body more carefully and reading the name designation from TRG, it is in fact a Mclaren MP4/8. The was the car driven by Senna and Andretti. It’s the body that use to be available with the HPI Super F1 kit. In my opinion this is one the top three most gorgeous cars ever made in formula 1. This is very cool! I love this body and recently I've been looking for it on the net with no luck. I hope they produce a clear version of this car as well.

Great deal! I'd keep the F201 and part then sell the rest. LOL You might break even. Hopefully Tamiya will start selling body kits like they use too. I know allot of us would appreciate being able to purchase bodies. I'd hate to think you have to buy a kit every time you want to do another one. LOL I guess you'd get spare parts...

Hi guys I'm new to rc electric cars, I have been into nitro helis for about 5 years. I just got a used xray T2 touring car, but I really want to get a F1 car. I have not had much luck finding a good condition used one like the tamiya f103. can anyone point me in the rite direction to where I might find one. anyone here that might be interested in trading for a rc heli?
thanks

Vyger, the Sauber came out great.
Those TRG bodys are awesome! I'm definitely going to pick one up when they are released. I think I'll probably go with the carbon fiber printed one because my 103 is going to be a runner, and I have my doubts about the durability of all those little pieces on the other one.

thanks guys, and yes i plan to get at least 3 of the Anniversary F103, but that depends on price, i saw one place had it at 260$ but i'm not sure if that was MSRP (which is usually inflated) or if it was the shops actual price, i also have a few bodysets which i will post soon.

i did say i wasnt sure whether that was the MSRP (which is always inflated) i really hope not, fingers crossed it'll be around 200$
