Yes both cars take 190mm bodies (assuming they don't have offset wheels installed). The difference between the two is one is belt driven and the other is shaft driven. Belt drive is a little bit more efficient but IMHO should be kept to the race track because rocks tend to get caught in the belts and destroy them. I've owned both belt and shaft drive and had nothing but problems with pebbles getting caught in the belt drive.

If it was me, I'd go with the belt drive (TA05) for racing, and shaft drive (TB03) for running on the street.

The TA05 has a mid-mounted motor and is supposed to be better if you want a drift set-up. I own a TA05 and have no complaints. As far as I'm concerned (parking lot driver) it is the motor/esc, shock set-up and batteries that make or break the car. Buy the chassis that you can get easily or cheaply and put your money into the electronics and batteries and you won't be disappointed, IMO. [sm=thumbs_up.gif]

I want to get a tb03R but the only prob is that everyone says ta05 is better, i really like tb03 much more than the ta05 but is it really that bad or is it exaggeration. I like shaft more than belt just so you know, will use for parking lot and a bit of racing, any help.

Coming from a TA-05 IFS owner, get the TB-03. Especially if you're drifting or just parking lot/street bashing. The stocker belts get weakened easily with brushless, and aren't that great for drifting. IMHO, I'd rather have gotten the TB.

Thanks for the advice, does the tb03 get alot of spur/pinion/bevel,Diffstripping, I will be running a 9T Brushless EZRUN with a LIPO 7.4V. Does the TB03R handle that much power? Any Hop Ups needed to run with the motor and battery i stated? Thanks

My belt drive takes a 6900 mm system with no stripping/snapping of the drivetrain parts, though on the tb-03, with it's more direct, no flex power distribution, I would recommend an aluminum driveshaft, driveshaft connectors (? I forget the name of the part, haven't been in r/c for about two years!), and so on, thus leaving just the spur to strip. I find spurs easiest to change!

Any advice on how to properly mesh the pinion/spur together so they don't strip? Thanks

a good way is to take a regular piece of paper, tear it into a small piece, and slide it inbetween the motor and pinion. This will create a good gap. Once you've got your motor locked in place, there should be just a little tiny amount of play.
