Default lookin for a new drifter?

the rc drifting thread was looking dead so i was wondering whats a good chassis to start out without major modding. i've been hearing people been drifting with ta-05s would that be a good choice.

You don't need a great chasis to drift on. You're not trying to break speed records so a carbon fiber chasis isn't needed. Lots of people drift with the TT-01 fine.

shaft probably is better from the stand point of it being stiffer and more instant response. I have no issues with using a belt for racing or speed but shaft might be better in drifting. I don't really know myself as all my drifters are shaft, never tried belt.

I think that the reason people like to say that a TA05 is good for drifting is because the motor is center-mounted, rather than rear-mounted. The idea is that the weight more evenly distributed front and rear. However, a TA05 is belt driven, not shaft.

I put drift rings on my TA05 this past weekend and fooled around with it in the parking lot for a while with good results, but I don't think it is particularly better than another electric on rings. [sm=50_50.gif]

I think you will have fun trying it with whatever chassis you choose.
