Tamiya TA-04
I'm probably going to get a Tamiya TA-04 R pretty soon so I thought I would start this thread for anyone to discuss the TA-04. Doesn't matter if its TA-04 S, R, SS, TRF, plain TA-04 or any other TA-04 variant that I might not have mentioned. After reading LB's TA-03 F thread it sounds like the TA-03 is a great little car, so I can just imagine that the TA-04 would be better. I can get a TA-04R tuned chassis kit for $140.

RE: Tamiya TA-04
!!!!! On Ebay someones selling a TA-04 TRF for $195 plus $25 shipping (AUD). Comes out to about $160 USD shipped. Not only is it the TRF, but its got all these hop-ups. It's prebuilt, the guy has taken good care of it but moved on to TA-05. I have a feeling the price will rise up alot because 3 days 11 hours left for bidding... But thats Austalia time. around Monday 8 AM for PST. Maybe I'll get it if the price isn't too high in the morning on Monday.
Hop-ups included with it...
Blue Aluminium Hex Screws around the WHOLE car except underneath the chassis.
Blue Aluminium Racing Steering Arms
Blue Aluminium TRF Fluorine Coated dampers (Discontinued)
Blue Aluminium Turnbuckles (only on camber arms, x4)
Blue Aluminium Wheel Hexes (4mm)
Blue Aluminium Swing Shafts on Universals (39mm, Front & Rear)
Blue Aluminium Rear Arms
Blue Aluminium Wheel Lock Nuts
Blue Aluminium Front Body Posts
Blue Aluminium Lightweight Servo Mounts
Blue Aluminium Spacers in Damper Stays
Hard Front Uprights

RE: Tamiya TA-04
oops wrong on the time again. its actualy ending at 4:12ish in the morning. hopefully I can place a bid tonight. $160USD shipped for a fully upgraded TA-04 TRF is a great deal, as the 'R' version goes for $140 new not including shipping.

RE: Tamiya TA-04
TA-04's never seemed to be very popular, its younger brother (the TA-03) was and still is popular, and the TA-05 was/is loved by racers and amateurs alike.
the upshot of that is they are good value, RC Mart has a few in stock around 100$ [8D]

RE: Tamiya TA-04
ive no idea why they weren't that popular, it would be nice to get a racer's take on the TA-04 performance.
would be nice to see a build thread though

RE: Tamiya TA-04
I am not a racer but I do like its performance. With the available options I put in mines, it should have been a nice racer. I am waiting on a new speed controllerfor the mamba 7700 to put back in it. I figured it was running near 50 on 6 cells. Once I find a lipo pack to fit I am going for the 9000kx motor. That should be fun.

RE: Tamiya TA-04
Sounds fun, do you have any pics? Right now I'm not gonna get the TA-04. I need to get new batteries first, I only have 1 good one. Next up...LIPO!!! Im gonna get two of these http://rc-mushroom.com/product_info....ducts_id=16449. but dont worry, im getting rid of the tamiya connectors for traxxas high current. maybe after that ill see if theres any deals on TA-05 chassis's and if not i'll get the TA-04.
