Default Dirt oval thread-Lets see your oval cars!

My EDM. This goldpan I got in a trade right off this website a couple years ago.
After inspecting the shocks Fuel tubing was already inside, I cleaned the shocks up and re-filled them. 35wt AE all 4 corners.
Cut up an old Lambo body that wasnt being used, looks like something from an auto junkyard.
Taper pins on the back, inside jobs on the front. Should do fine on dirt oval.[>:]
Brushless is defintly gonna be used since I have the stealth tranny mounted.

I've had my sprint Flux for a year now and it has been flawless, until now. I have cleaned it after every run and been careful where i run it. It was bound to happen eventually i got a rock caught in the front belt. No big deal I know, but are there any tricks or short cuts to replace both belts? It looks like a lot of dis assembly is required. any help would be appreciated greatly. I have been running my evo-3 but forgot what a pain nitro is, although quite a bit faster. Thanks in advance for any help.

Maybe because they have not tried oval.
Don't knock it if you have not tried it. It isn't as easy as it looks.

I like dirt, I dont care if it's offroad or oval. Oval even the gifted racers have trouble with it. It's defnitly not easy.
It sux thou when one person makes a mistake it messes up the whole fleet of cars. Ive seen it happen too many times,
but doesnt turn me away from oval racing. I like the challange of it. Offroad you make a mistake
you have a 50% chance of catching up. Oval you have like a 10-15% chance of catching up.
Turning left isnt for everybody.[:-]

My favorite class on the oval is the big boy electric 8th scale late models, those things are sweet to see in person.
The mini late models are actually fun too when the track is filled with the little buggers.
Slash on oval can get tricky, people often get tangled up with me when im trying to stay close to the centerline.

True, but
How many times have you seen that in nascar ? very often!
especially with restrictor plate races.
I guess r/c is just like the real thing!

Isn't that the truth, but that is what makes oval more interesting for me. The smallest mistakes can make a huge diffrence in the race.
In my opinion, there is nothing like running wide open, door to door.
Now, please understand, I do not have a problem with other forms of racing, but I am an oval kind of guy and get tired of having my faverate racing constantly bashed by those who have never tried it.

The dirt oval track I race on has a box stock oval slash class, alot of newbies like the class
because it's easy to get started. I have made my slash stock again for this kinda racing.
the fast guys are adding lead weight to thier slashes,
and putting fuel tubing in the shock bodies to limit the suspension travel.

I wont be doing this thou, because i run HIGH CAPACITY nimh,
while everyone else is LIPO.
LIPO'S alot of people dont understand DOESNT MAKE YOU FASTER,
setup and driving and practice makes you faster. Oval it doesnt matter what batteries you use,
the people that run the races have no clue how to setup a slash for oval.
They take it out of the box BRAND NEW and expect to win with it.

Oval is very, very different from offroad. It's 25% driving skill and 75% setup.
Offroad is 80% driving skill and 20% setup.

Basically Oval is mostly setup, and offroad is all driving.

Well, if thats true, please tell me why I always hear you off road guys talking about set up?? Ya know, springs shock oils and toe in.
Also, the last time I ran off road, there wasn't a lot of skill in the driving. It was full throttle into the turn and use the other guy to help get through the corner.( Also known as a hack fest!)
In oval, set up is iprotant, but so is driving the correct line, especialy when you're talking that .001 of a second could mean winning or finishing second. So I will respectfuly
disagree. A good set up is useless without a good driver and a good driver can not make up for a bad set up.

at the higher levels of offroad and oval .. setup is the key, its all about the setuo and being a clean driver.

Nice tidbit of misinformation!!! Shows you haven't done, or achieved any level or success in, either genre.

love dirt oval, got out of racing offroad at the other local tracks because everybody gripes and moans and are all tools, the oval club i race with is crazy laid back. we run a loose, roughsurface clay/sand oval. ill get a picture uplater.
