yes i beleive it is the stinger, for now it should be good, as im gonna use it for carpet racing with my daughter! just with different body. i know its a Novak ESC, but not sure what model as we ve not played with it yet. we re spending time on her Emaxx getting it redone with purple RPM gear, and trying to find what paint scheme she wants on the jeep body. thanx for the hope up suggestions. they will come in handy.

there is a local seller. and i want to purchase this as my first car.

1. shell
2. 2 sets of rims
3. 1 set of regular street tires
4. 1 set of drift tires
5. Remote control
5. tt-01 chassis
6. 2 1500 series batteries (fully charged) and charger

for $140. slightly used
am i getting ripped off? im very new to rc's.

bIGmiK 07-01-2006 07:46 AM

RE: Official Tamiya TT-01 Thread

That all depends on what Remote controll, motor, speed controller and other parts you are getting.

if I was you, I would try get a deal on eBay. Your deal isn't that bad, but I seen alot better.

so....nobody knows the advantage of the steering kit?

RE: Official Tamiya TT-01 Thread

i dont, but if its like many others, ball bearings instead of bushings. usually smoother response and ability to get more radius in the turn is a typical things upgrades steering set ups usually offer.

Hey bigmik, why exactly does the TT-01 not like to go straight while traveling at high speeds? I really would like to figure this out.....hmmmm[&:]

bIGmiK 07-04-2006 05:28 AM

RE: Official Tamiya TT-01 Thread

That's due to it's low quality and lack of adjustment.

Some toe in front and rear (2 degree's front, 3 degree's rear) and some castor works wonders in making you car travel in a striaght line at high speeds. It's all about having a car that fully adjustable, and working out a set-up thats good for you.

ok, i've had a quick flick through this thread, tried searching, and its come up with nothing. so...

does anyone know if Tamiya make a lockable rear diff, and if so, whats teh part number? i cant find anything about it, but heard people talk about it!

I havent seen one myself.
I do know that many of the owenrs who drift their TT-01s either place some heavy grease, putty, JB Weld, etc, into the rear diff to tighten or lock it.

yeah ive been wanting to lock my rear diff myself, i just dont want to mess up and ruin my stuff. but, is that all they do? just open it up, stick some Silly Putty in there and close it back up and call it a locked diff? I also heard that blutac works well too.

You could also use JB weld...that will work. Ive heard of that blutac stuff...guess that works to because alot of people do it. But, I believe it is that simple. Just JBweld it or stuff some putty in there and pack it well.....and youre done.
