Default Stupid question about using your Tx

With a simulator I mean. Through buddy box connection. Antenna up or down? And why? Many thanks.

Default Stupid question about using your Tx

If your transmitter has to be switched on for the buddy box port to work, I suggest that you remove the crystal.

If you leave the crystal in, the transmitting part of the radio is operational, consuming more power. By removing the crystal, the tx oscillator can not run, so the transmiting part will be switched off.

If you leave the crystal in, with arial in, the transmitter is functional, but you will now have a mismatch on the tx output circuit. Remember, the tx circuit was designed to operate with arial extended. This might cause overheating of the final stage transitor, as it has to consume more current to overcome the mismatch. In rare cases, this can cause the transmitter to fail.

Default Eric

Thank you. That was exactly the reply I needed. Also, I have been to your website and flown some of your sim models, so thanks for that too. Happy flying and best regards.

Default Stupid question about using your Tx

My Futaba 6EXA has to be turned on to work. Kinda ticked I found out AFTER I bought the adapter to fit the new Futaba trainer port.

I just boxed it up and use the one that came with G2 - tho I'm seriously considering selling G2 after 5 days I'm not really that impressed so far.

Default Tried removing the crystal on my Futaba 6xas

Works through the trainer cord just the same and two hours of sim flying hardly drained the ni-cads at all. Many thanks again.
