Default Need help getting Aurora 9 to work with FS One

Hi guys,
I'm new to RC modelling and having trouble setting up my flight sim.
I've got a new Aurora 9 transmitter and trying to use it with FS One (V1). I think there must be a problem with the cable I'm using because FS One just doesn't respond to it at all. There's no warning to say 'it's not detected' but there is no response to its inputs either.
I noticed there was a mono plug (which was working with a mate's DX7) butI swapped it for the stereo plug as per my hobby shop's direction.

Do I need to get an adapter specifically for the Aurora?
I'm pretty green and don't know where to start so any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!
