Default RealFlight 7 vs Phoenix 4 for IMAC practice

I'd like to get a head start on IMAC this year with some sim practice. I already have Phoenix 4 and it's pretty good, though I haven't done a lot of aerobatic practice with it. I'm wondering if Real Flight 7 is a step up, and enough of a step up to justify the price.

I'm already aware that flying at the field is much better practice for IMAC and I'll be into that when the weather warms up. What I'm looking for are opinions on RF7 for aerobatics practice.

Cheers!

If IMAC practice is your only reason to purchase RF7, then I would say no.

Phoenix's flight model is good as it is and you can tune the provided aircraft fairly easily.

RF7 has other models not available in Phoenix, but that is a different criteria.

I have both, and like both for different reasons.

I'm with you on this. I have 6.5 and Phoenix. My only gripe with Phoenix is that many of the planes sound funny. They don't sound like real engines. I also find that the 3D planes are more floaty on Phoenix.
