Default Power Supply??

I have just purchased a PIC serial interface cable to hook my Tx up to FMS, my question is, do I need to use the Tx batts. to operate FMS, or is there another solution? I would hate to be flying and have to quit because my Tx batts are dead. Any ideas on an external power source??

Default RE: Power Supply??

The FMS PIC Interface is powered from the serial port, and will not use up you rtransmitter's batteries.

When using your tx with any interface, you should remove the crystal. This will then ensure that the transmitter part of the tx is switched of, which will greatly reduce battery power.

On average, my son flies for three weeks using a JR Quattro tx, without the need to recharge.
