Default Aerial Down

Is it true that if I remove my transmitter crystal, I can run it with the aerial down without fear of doing any damage to the TX circuit. I have just purchased Aerofly pro and was surprised to find that the transmitter must be switched for the interface to work.

Thanks in advance

Busta

With the crystal removed, the transmitter part of the radio does not function as the carrier clock no longer oscillates. In this state, there is no need to extend the arial.
