I am looking for a very realistic Heli Simulator to practice Aerobatic and 3D flying.
I have Tru-Flight 3D and does not find it realistic enough. I am currently flying a Raptor 50 V2.
Understand Realflight G2 is very popular, can you advice me on the following about Realflight G2,
1) How close is Realflight simulation to an actual model heli acrobatic and 3D flying ? ( 90% ? )
2) Realflight comes with a controller or adapter to our own transmitter, which is the better option in terms of flying realism and configuration flexibility.
3) Does Realflight simulate all the settings of Pitch curve, throttle curve, throttle hold, gyro hold etc.
4) How realistic is the AutoRotation simulation of Realflight.
Besides Realflight are there any other simulators that is as good if not better than realflight.
Appreciate any feedback.

Checkout Reflex at http://www.reflex-sim.de/
As to how good it is, I've just sold my RealFlight G2 when I bought Reflex.. They have a demo that you can download to install on your PC to try it and ensure that it will perform well on your PC before you buy it.
There's also a Raptor 50 V2 model available for it.

You can download many free models at http://www.rc-sim.de
There will also be a new version out early next year.. Check out this thread: http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/Refl...1244284/tm.htm

Thanks gregw,
Based on your experience, how realistic and accurate is Reflex sim (give an estimate percentage) compared to flying F3C and 3D aerobatics on an actual model heli.
Can autorotation be accurately learned as well on the reflex sim.

as an advanced pilot, i prefer the reflex. not only a little better, much better and far closer to reality. it starts with changable rotor direction and ends with vortex conditon or ground handling. they are worlds apart. get a demo and watch the sample flights. pitch cruves, flight conditions - whatever your radio can do. autos are just as real as in reality. in fact the reflex out of the box is a little harder that real life but you can tune it in with the params if you want. pretty nice heading hold/heading lock function plus you can use/make your own models if you want. there is a new version comming up that i just saw and the funny thing is it costs nothing. serach here for xtr and you will see some pictures you won't believe. with them you really have the feeling of being a customer. simon

I'm not an advance enough pilot to do F3C or 3D aerobatics yet, so I can't give you an honest feedback on that.. However, based on my experience with the Corona model that is available for download versus the real Corona which I fly, I would say that it is close to 90% as realistic as the real thing. This is much closer than the models available on RealFlight G2, which I tried for the longest time to "tweak" so that it would fly like my real Corona, but in the end, still couldn't come close.
My Corona is a fixed pitch, so it won't autorotate. I'm sure someone else out there can give you their opinion on this..

Thanks Simon35 and Gregw for your valuable feedback, Reflex seems to be the best option so far.
I almost bought the Realflight G2 which cost 40% more than the Reflex.
I must definitely take a serious look at Reflex. I have seen the Reflex Xtr and the graphics is unbelievable !!!, I just hope the simulation realism is just as good if not better.

I would suggest that you download the demo from [link=http://www.reflex-sim.de]Reflex[/link], watch a video of an RC Helicopter doing 3D, and then compare it with the 3D demo flight on Reflex.. You will "see" that the heli on Reflex reacts very close to the real thing. I used RealFlight G2 (sold it now) before buying Reflex. After getting my Reflex and using it exclusively for a few days, however, found that I just couldn't go back to G2. The flight reactions/physics in G2 felt "stiff" and seemed very much like a game rather than a simulator when compared with Reflex.
I've also heard that the physics on XTR (Reflex v5) has been improved, so I wouldn't worry that it will be less realistic than Reflex v4.
