I am interested in making my own skins for my g2 planes and I need some help. I have photoshop and paintshop pro 5. Is there a thread I could reference on this?
I also have and know how to use 3d software. Is there any way you can make your own planes?
thanks in advance

It's pretty simple to make new "schemes" or skins. Go to "select aircraft". Pick a plane. Below that in the color scheme section click on "make new scheme" it will then save a "skin" of that particular plane for you as a .tga file. Go ahead and open it up in Photoshop and repaint it to your hearts desire. Save it as a .jpg file as it's a lot smaller and Real Flight still reads it just fine.
If you learn how to create new planes hang on as the requests are gonna pile in. I'm wondering why more hasn't been asked about making custom planes. At least I haven't seen much.

Thanks for the information. I am going to work creating my own airplanes. It seems that Great Planes should consider offering a plugin to do this. The more people can interface with the software... generally the happier they are!

I agree with you on the plugin. Great Planes won't because that would mean we wouldn't buy the add on discs anymore. I would however pay for a "design factory" like there was for Microsoft Flight Simulator. I made some pretty hairy stuff with that.
