I am almost there, BUT. After our new puppy chewed the cable on the G2 interface, I decided I would prefer to use my Futaba 8U trainer cord connection. After some research, but not here, I purchased a parallel connection. When using it to control the G2 (I am running Win XP) I am not able to get Channel 3 for the throttle. Channel 1, 2 , & 4 are fine. I can assign keyboard or mouse to give the throttle function. (Not too realistic, however.) I have normal operation with it in the FMS.
Has anyone had the same problem, and found a solution?

To shorten earlier post. Matt Clement's 6-pin Futaba to Parallel Port works fine on FMS, BUT I can't get Throttle when running RF-G2.
Has anyone had this too? You can "map" keyboard to input throttle (Channel 3), but. . . not too realistic.
Can anyone suggest solution?
Really appreciate help.

Thanks for the suggestion. The driver for the parallel port then allows me to get the joystick in "Game Controllers" in the control panel. I think the Parallel port driver is part of the "ppjoy" download, and it places an icon in the control panel called "Parallel Port Joysticks".
I think I have tried every combination available, going to calibration and mapping, but have not found the answer.
Would you have a suggestion as to an available different driver?
Thanks so much for your input.

Hello e-Man,
I had no luck what so ever getting the parallel port running with my G2 for the throttle, and no help from Matt Clements. I am rather sure that his adapter won't do it, or I would have heard back from him. (For anyone that wants it, mine is for sale, obviously. If running FMS is what you want, it is fine.)
My solution was buying the adapter from http://www.milehighwings.com/
I am very pleased with it, and the price and delivery we great.
That would be my suggestion, and I am sure that you will be pleased with it.
Good Luck.

I tried using it with the PPjoy driver and i noticed that the throttle stick doesn't move anything, but the channel 1 stick moves both the channel 3 (throttle) and channel 1 :S
Does this mean the parallel port mixes these channels? Does the same happen to u?
I think it can be resolved by ajusting the timing features of the driver but i dont know how....

Yes, as I recall that is exactly what I ran into. I spent much time trying to assign different functions to the various channels, and the nearest to working I could get was to assign "keys from the computer's keyboard to give me throttle on channel 3 and that did work. BUT when you are using the transmitter, it really is a pain to have to reach over to the keyboard and adjust your throttle. I also like to be able to "retract gear" and use flaps, and I was never able to find anyway of doing that, although I could have done without them if the throttle had worked. Now those 5th and 6th channels can be assigned, and gear and flaps also work with the "milehighwings" adapter. I am much happier now using my transmitter than the one that came with the G2.
Hope this helps.

Well after much consideration i think i'm gonna give up and build my self a joystick port adapter, i already have the parts i'm just waiting for the chance to make the pcb... at least it works with my joystick port to usb adapter so that wont be a problem... i guess building the parallel adapter was just a wast of time and money after all...

hello
i am matt clement
my interface does work with FMS as it should. it is a bit more complicated to make it work with G2 but very doable. you simply need to remap the controls in the ppjoysetup menu. i actually had the same issues on my computer with ch3 until i remapped it. as always i will always help anyone that buys from me to the best of my ability if they contact me. it gets rather messy when everyone posts on forums and takes advice from strangers before dealing with me directly. it gets so bad by the time i finally get contacted things are screwed up beyond all recognition. POINT-if you buy from me contact me if you have problems. you wouldnt goto sears with a problem with your jcpennys blender would you? my email is in the order form and i reply to every email.
thanks
matt

Got the solution...
In the Parallel Ports --> Configure Joystick program choose the virtual joy and click on Mapping
Just throw the folowing
X-axis - A1 (aileron)
Y-axis - A2 (elevator)
Z-axis - A3 (rudder)
Z- Rotation - A0 (throttle)
Slide - A3 (rudder)
throw NOTHING in the remaining
Worked fine for me...

My friend asked me to help him to find a good solution for this problem.
I did, and then I've changed his life, he said...
Got the real solution:
Do what wladkummer said to do (a bit modified)

Just throw the folowing:
X-axis - A1 (aileron)
Y-axis - A2 (elevator)

throw NOTHING in the remaining
and then go to G2 custom joysetup, and do a calibration.
When finished go back to custom setup, and choose the right stickname/direction which exactly moves that control that you want...
There is a blue slider-bar which changes if you move a stick, try all stick-selection until you get the slider moving. This will result a few identical (and stupid) entry in the setup, but ignore it. Just fly it! It works.
My problem was before, that I tried to set it up in the logical way, like the right
stickname for the right move... Forget it! Set up that stick, which moves that slider... It's working for me.
Same thing in FMS. You have to enter the chanel numbers for the controls.
Enter that number which moves the right slide-bar (up and down)
