I am running Windows XP and my graphics shows windows mode so there is no specific resolution or frame rate shown, how do I find out what frame rate I am getting in AFP?

Dowload and install the latest patch if you haven't done it already. Hit F9 to display the Flight Info window on the lower right of the screen (if it's not on). The last line in the info window, which is FPS, shows your current frame rate in frames per second.

Thanks for the help, I have checked the frame rate and depending on which airport I am at and so on I get a fram rates of about 80 to 140 fps, I assume this is good enough?

80 to 140 fps is more than good enough. You should be OK.
