I read somewhere, I guess from Ann Marie (GP employee), that if you send the damaged CD to Great Planes they will replace it at no cost. I have a bad memory so I suggest to verify with them, just in case...

There is a way to copy it. I have never done it. But there is a program that will crack basically any CD! My friend has done some experiments with it, (nothing illegal) just back up stuff. He says that it workd just fine.

I'm sure I speak for a lot of people when I say LEAVE IT ALONE! All this is going to do is show someone the way to bootleg what I spent my hard earned money for. If I see the information posted here I WILL send the link to any threads I see it in to Knife Edge software. Maybe they would like to track who is trying to pirate their software. It is copy protected for a reason.
If you're worried about the disc getting damaged then put it in a safe place. It's not needed other than at installation. I don't know what the replacement policy is but if I destroy it through my negligence I'm not going to expect them to give me a free one!

Hey guys,
An open forum is not the place to discuss copying software. Especially when some of us have close ties to the author of it. Great Planes has a very liberal policy on replacement if it is damaged so it may not be worth the trouble to copy it. Due to legal ramifications forums like this can not have ongoing discussions like this on the site.
I don't want to step on anyones toes but, don't want anyone to have any problems either.
I'm closing the thread and if anyone has any questions please email me.
You guys are doing a great job keeping things on track here and I appreciate the information and ideas presented.
Best regards
