Default Aerofly PRO the best "feel"!!!

@bobi

I am using Aerofly PRO for 5 weeks, easy update to vesion1.2.4 on Aerofly site: http://www.aerofly.de/ .
Now i only fly with the F.C.Gilles 202 TOC, does torque roll's, harrier roll's and all F3A manoeuvre's very realistic.
In Holland price for PRO:149 Euro=135$ and for G2:350 Euro=315$ so no G2 for me!!!

Default Dual rates

The Aerofly Pro works from your own transmitter, if it has dual rates it wil work. It might be a good idea to "tame" the Gee Bee.

I've also been pretty intrigued by AeroFly Pro, as I've got Easyfly and it's been GREAT, probably the best deal in RC sims in my opinion as you can get it for $50 with the controller (which will work with RF classic and I'm assuming G2), and looks good, has good physics, AND has some great free planes you can download.

Default Towing

Has anyone used the towing feature in AeroFly??

Also, does it allow you to edit the "Look" of the plane as well as the parameters? In G2, you can edit the parameters and the plane flys differently, but not the look. SO, to create an Extra from a Cap is a no-can-do...

I also got AFP.

Perfekt sim.. the towing also works...

You can make al those mix you can dream about.. as long as your transmitter can handle it.

you can make the wing larger and such... but you cand change the shape.. like making a CAP to an extra.

Do you need a 3D card for this? I have a 350Mhz PII processor, will it do?

Recommended is a 800mhz and you need 3D cards like Geforce cause you need OpenGL

Minimum CPU is 300mhz

So if your clock your CPU a little and get a good 3D card like GF 2 you may run AFP good enough

Default Aerofly

I am using Aerofly Professionalal 1.2.6 on a Dell Inspiron 8100 notebook with 1gz Pentium 3 and Nvidia GForce to Go. Works great.

The TOC Giles is absolutely sensational. The F-16, which does not have flaps as far as I can tell, flies amazingly like my HotSpot jet.

I love this sim but do not own G2 for comparison. The only downside to it is that I have not been able figure out how to use dual rates or expo with my Futaba 6XA. The lack of flaps on the F-16 may bother some folks but I think it makes for great training in throttle and pitch management for landing.

Default @Dustflyer

If DR/EXPO works in your radio, it works with AFP. The only thing to take care about is, you MUST callibrate the radio with the large throws, best is to use a fresh, resettet modelmemory without any mixes.

I did not try yet, but in the case of the F-16, a flapperon-mixer in your radio should fix the flap-problem for this plane. If you create a correct control-setup in expert-mode, you should be able to designate each single servo to any single receiver-output-channel, activate a flapperon-mix in your RC and - voila - the flaps should work as desired.

I for my own prefer AFP to G2, own both, AFP is far superior in flight-behaviour at the edges of the flight-envelope. Not that good at graphics and sound, but much better simulation-model, and that´s what we wanna see!

Default Aerofly with G2 interface

I am considering getting a copy of this sim. I already have G2 but want something that I can practice glider towing with.

If I buy the interface version, can I still use my G2 transmitter with it?

I'm talking about the box that Realflight sends you, not the transmitter interface?

Will the transmitter interface version work with my RF box? If so, I would get the interface as I don't really need another fake transmitter like the one offered with RF.

Default Aerofly Professional ..... anyone??

I just purchased AFP on the advice of some here.
It is pretty impressive, but still not 100% accurate.
I don't know if some settings might help make a more accurate plane?
It seems pretty realistic in the hover/torque roll area.
It doesn't seem very good at snap manuveurs.
Does anyone have tips?
I am looking for a wintertime practice of artistic aerobatics routines to keep the fingers nimble.

Hi JasonS!

Yesterday I received the Addon #1 with some very interesting Aircraft. I had little time to try but the 3W Extra 330S (as flown by R. Matt) seems to be very impressive. Snaps work really fine, they stop as desired with good fuselage-attitude (as compared to the Cap232br). I´m not shure yet if she is neutral enough to fly crisp and exact aerobatics as you desire, but at least with a little tweaking of CG and incident-angles she should be near to perfect.
The second very interesting Model is the Smaragd F3A-plane (also a W. + R. Matt design). Also to short in time to try in depth, but first impression is very good. Very good snaps, tracks straight. A friend and active pattern-pilot tryed and thinks the same way.

Hope I was able to help a little bit
greetings
thomasK

p.s. Is JasonS just a nick inspired by a really great flyer or are you THE JasonS that the nick implies?

Yeah, I'm looking forward to the add on being available in the states. The Smaradg has me really interested. It is currently a very hot design over here.
